Adjusting Due to Pandemic, GetPlus Loyalty Platform Rolls Out New Features

Already has more than 300 thousand users, plans to expand in big cities in Indonesia

One of the efforts to provide more service to customers is by presenting rewards program. As a platform developed to help retail businesses through coalition loyalty program(coalition loyalty), GetPlus notes that now is a good time for brand to launch these activities.

To DailySocial, GetPlus Co-Founder & COO Adrian Hoon revealed, the digital era has increased customer expectations, on the other hand, intense competition has also made rewards program become important to maintain brand loyalty and trust. Apart from Adrian, co-founder Another GetPlus is Antonny Liem who is also a Partner of GDP Venture who also provided an early stage investment to GetPlus.

"To stay relevant and win loyalty in the digital economy, brand must leverage consumer data to provide a highly relevant, highly convenient and trustworthy customer experience. This will foster a better relationship with your best customer base," said Adrian.

Mentioned how the pandemic affected the business growth of GetPlus, about 80% of partners merchant is retail offline, F&B, and travel businesses that were badly affected by the temporary closure of malls and restricted movement. Even though all shopping processes turn to online, however the number of transactions seems to be decreasing and most people are making purchases for non-essential items.

"Our business experienced a 60-70% decline during the early stages of the PSBB in 2020. Our next response was to rapidly upgrade our Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to receive home delivery purchase receipts, enabling our users to continue to earn GetPlus points when shopping at home and at the same time help improve some of our F&B partners' businesses," said Adrian.

GetPlus claims to have managed triple the partnership with merchant and double the membership base through strategic partnerships with 4 of the top 5 telecom operators and multiple services E-commerce. There are still many plans that will be launched by GetPlus, one of which is expansion to big cities in Indonesia. The plan depends on the size of the demand and the pandemic conditions in the area.

Launching a new channel

GetPlus launched a new channel, allowing users to earn points by uploading purchase receipts. It is hoped that this option can make it easier for more than 300 thousand GetPlus users to exchange shopping receipts from any supermarket and minimarket in Greater Jakarta into GetPlus Points.

"Our business model is to help connect partners merchant us with consumers (who are our members) through our coalition loyalty program. Extension to minimarket and supermarket give our members another avenue to earn GetPlus points."

More Coverage:

In addition to grocery retail, GetPlus also has CPG (consumer packaged goods) in partnership brand with to reward customers who buy their products. This method allows members to earn GetPlus points from retail and CPG brands at the same time—multiple earnings in one shopping trip.

"Through brand CPG, we recognize the importance of engaging their customers directly. As consumers have changed their shopping behavior, traditional advertising and marketing models are not as effective as they were before. By leveraging the GetPlus coalition loyalty platform, brand CPG can have a 'quick start' without investing in marketing technology, to promote directly to consumers and reward their purchases," said Adrian.
