Focus on Developing Foreign Language Learning Technology, LingoTalk Raises Pre-Seed Funding

Thus, for users who want to increase their knowledge and skills of a foreign language, they can see firsthand the extent of the capabilities and absorption of learning while using the application.

"Our big dream is to be able to create an efficient curriculum by reducing learning time starting from a foreign language. Putting technology ahead, LingoTalk also wants to adopt artificial intelligence into the platform," said Andre.

To be able to develop more technology advance, currently LingoTalk is exploring fundraising for the pre seed. Previously they had pocketed investment from angel investors. If fresh funds can be obtained in the near future, the company wants to focus on product development, recruit more teams engineers, and develop a recommendation system.

"We provide a learning platform that will make users more comfortable in accessing materials and learning foreign languages ​​on LingoTalk, because the main key for us is learning efficiency and personalizing materials according to their needs using the latest technology," said Andre.

After successfully building the LingoTalk web application in August 2020, now they are introducing the LingoTalk Mobile Learning application to users. With the subscription concept, which is planned to be launched in Q3 this year, later users can easily continue their choice of the desired package directly. The option currently offered by Lingotalk is Pay Per Package.

"By offering the concept subscription we can also maintain the retention and of course simplify the process for users. Currently the agreements we offer with tutors . and in-house is a negotiation from the start rates them," said Andre.

AI technology and collaboration

Currently LingoTalk provides learning services for 10 international languages ​​based on one on one, intense classes, and a personalized language curriculum. They already have more than 10000 active users throughout Indonesia with specifications of various ages ranging from children, teenagers, to adults.

Although currently there are several digital platforms that offer foreign language learning In Indonesia, LingoTalk claims to have a significant difference with other similar platforms. One of them is applying technology artificial intelligence into the platform.

From the beginning LingoTalk was built by developing existing assets, but the company's focus going forward is to develop technology. LingoTalk also wants to provide users with more personalized and relevant recommendations.

"We will continue to follow technological developments, initially we still use tutors, but in the future if we already have one million users, we can develop relevant technology. For example by utilizing AI coach, and can focus more on specific recommendations in each of the languages ​​we offer," said Andre.

Currently LingoTalk has collaborated with related platforms such as Kiddo. One of the potentials being developed by LingoTalk is to offer foreign language learning for children.

"We currently have quite a variety of target users. Starting from students who want to continue their studies abroad to young professionals. But in the future, we will develop segmentation for children using the FOMO trend. (fear of missing out) among parents," said Andre.
