Series C Funding Pockets, LingoAce Learning Platform Expands Language Coverage Offered

In total LingoAce has raised $180 million in funding

The end of 2021 is a Mandarin learning platform based in Singapore Lingo Ace secured Series C funding. This $105 million funding round was led by Sequoia Capital India and joined by Owl Ventures, Shunwei Capital and SWC Global. In total LingoAce has raised $180 million in funding.

The fresh funds will be used to continue LingoAce's mission of making learning new languages ​​fun, immersive and interactive for children.

In addition, funding will also be used to develop a global team with significant recruits in the Southeast Asia, United States and Europe region, to strengthen product and curriculum development, and increase sales and marketing support.

"The funds will also be used to grow a global team with significant hiring underway in the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia, to strengthen curriculum and product development, and to scale sales and marketing support," said LingoAce Founder & CEO Hugh Yao.

LingoAce provides a Chinese learning platform for children aged 4-15 years. User will be taught by tutor native speaker who are certified and have passed the selection in teaching Mandarin to children and adolescents. These tutors are from Singapore and China.

Besides LingoAce, other online language learning platforms in Southeast Asia are Competent, LingoTalk, and Bahaso.

Global business growth

Officially launched in Indonesia in 2020, LingoAce claims to have experienced a growth in the number of users. The pandemic that accelerated the growth of edtech platforms was also felt by Chinese learning platforms such as LingoAce.

"Our innovative digital content and platform has created a different online experience for students. 60% of our students are referred to LingoAce from students and parents who have previously used LingoAce," said Hugh.

LingoAce is changing the way children learn Chinese by creating engaging and fun educational experiences for students through tools that make it easy for parents to plan, schedule and monitor their children's learning.

In Indonesia, LingoAce holds one-on-one classes and small group directly with the best quality, certified teachers who can provide feedback and interaction directly real-time to provide effective, efficient learning.

There are currently two Mandarin language programs in Indonesia. The first is aimed at students who are just starting to learn Mandarin as a second language and the second program is for those who are more advanced. Both are based on globally recognized Chinese learning materials.

Although from the beginning the focus was on Chinese, the company also plans to growing business by presenting English and opening up other learning opportunities to meet the global demand for continuing education.
