DSInnovate Report: Building "Digital Trust" in Indonesia

The digital economy in Indonesia is expected to reach $146 billion by 2025, a 2x increase compared to 2021's $70 billion. Along with this growth, innovation is needed to ensure this increasingly large data traffic and transactions are in safe lanes.

From this hypothesis, the terminology "digital trust" then appears to be a fundamental requirement for businesses wishing to adopt technology. This is also in line with public awareness about privacy and data security, encouraging developers to present a safe and secure application system.

In an effort to introduce more deeply about the concept digital trust that, DSInnovate launched a report entitled "Building Trust in Indonesia's Digital Economy". It covers three main topics, including:

1. Introduction digital trust; describes the definition, urgency, and industry perspective regarding digital trust. Also discussed were international standards that many industry players use as references in implementing digital trust.
2. Basic principles digital trust; explains the three main principles of digital trust including speed, scalability, and security.
3. Development digital trust in Indonesia; reviewing digital trust in Indonesia along with case studies that have existed so far.

There are several interesting findings, one of which is from interviews with a number of industry players who said that increasing digital trust can increase consumer interest in the services provided. In addition, the adoption of digital trust principles is also said to be an efficient preventive measure to prevent businesses from risks such as: fraud and other crimes related to identity fraud.
