Lamudi Receives Funding from Ringier AG and Axel Springer SE

Funds will be used to continuously improve the quality of service and provide the best experience for users

Provider startup property listing Lamudi announced that it had successfully secured funding injections from Swiss media company Ringier AG and German media company Axel Springer SE. No figures were mentioned in the announcement. Investments from both will be utilized by Lamudi to continue to provide the best experience for users to search for properties, such as bridging property seekers from online ke offline as in Indonesia.

“We are very pleased to include investors who are very experienced in the fields of media, digital technology and are enthusiastic about creating new breakthroughs in the property industry in Indonesia. Investments from global players into Lamudi Indonesia are good news for the development of startups in Indonesia," explained Lamudi Indonesia Managing Director Mart Polman.

Furthermore, Mart also explained that currently Lamudi has become a trusted platform for consumers and industry players to search and market real estate market. The new funding will help Lamudi significantly expand the company's efforts to help Indonesians find their dream home.

Lamudi itself was first launched at the end of 2013 by Rocket Internet. With some support investor and quite fast growth, currently Lamudi has operations in Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Colombia, to Peru.

“Lamudi fits perfectly with our vision and our interest in local business models. We were impressed by the company's operational sophistication, the capabilities of the global and local management teams, and the desire to create value. We believe that Lamudi will drive significant changes in the industry real estate market in Southeast Asia and Mexico,” said Robin Lingg, Head of Marketplace Ringier AG.

Meanwhile, President of Classifieds Media Axel Springer SE Andreas Wiele said that Lamudi has a very fast development and is in a very attractive market. As one of the largest companies in the search industry real estate market, Axel Springer SE believes that they can help further develop Lamudi with the knowledge and expertise they have so far.

These two new Lamudi investors will join previous Lamudi investors who have supported Lamudi's development so far, such as Asia Pacific Internet Group (APACIG), a company j Rocket Internet and Ooredoo, as well as Holtzbrinck Ventures and Tengelmann Ventures.
