Kulina's Story After Following the Fifth Batch of Google Launchpad Accelerator

Eric Schmidt's visit is the highlight of this batch, it will focus on site development

As the only startup participating in the program Google Launchpad Acceleratorbatch Fifth, Kulina CEO Andy Fajar Handika explained his experience and plans after experiencing firsthand incubation at Google's San Francisco office at the end of 2017 to the media (06/03).

Head of Communications Google Indonesia Jason Tedjasukmana revealed that one of the reasons only Kulina was sent to participate in Google's acceleration program was the increasing number of countries participating in this program.

"Initially only three countries participated in the Google Launchpad Accelerator, but in batch In this fifth, we note that there are about 24 countries that follow. Seeing these conditions, Google Indonesia must also adjust to this change."

The Google Launchpad Accelerator activity is a routine program held by Google. In addition to focusing on the development of startup technology, this program also focuses on scalability and stages scale-up relevant to each startup and aimed at emerging markets.

"Not only mentoring sessions, we were also given the opportunity to share experiences with startups from other countries. Overall this program provides new motivation for Kulina to run a relevant business in the future," said Andy.

One of the advantages of being a participant in Google's acceleration activities is the opportunity to meet face-to-face with experts and leading figures of this technology giant. One of them is with Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google who plans to step down from his position as Chairman of Alphabet (Google's parent company) this year.

Although not previously scheduled, the discussion and mentoring sessions that became routine activities became even more special when Eric decided to meet face-to-face with startup activists from various countries.

"A lot of important information was conveyed by Eric, not only his successful experiences but the failures he had experienced while working at Google. One of them was the failure of Google+," said Andy.

Andy added that the important advice that Eric conveyed was the importance of managing budget obtaining funding so as not to run out of money.

Post-program Kulina Plan

After running the acceleration program from Google, Kulina will complete a lot of homework, including focusing on developing the site and delaying the launch of the application.

"Because the nature of Kulina's customers is not on-demand, so it becomes difficult for us to launch the application immediately. Even though it's still in pipeline us, for the application we will temporarily postpone its development," said Andy.

Asked whether the Google Launchpad Accelerator program only focuses on integrating various Google products into Kulina's technology, Andy revealed a lot of important knowledge shared in the program. This includes matters of financial management, management, and other supporting matters.

"Despite the acceleration program, we have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with unicorn startups from other countries. It makes us enough humble and excited to hear about their success stories," said Andy.
