Grab Present "Kitchen by GrabFood", the concept of a special delivery food court

"Pilot project" carried out in West Jakarta with six leading merchants

Grab announced the latest concept to drive transactions GrabFood by presenting "Kitchen by GrabFood". This concept is as befits food court deliberately built Grab for selected merchants but do not accept dine-in (dine in) and takeaways, but specifically through GrabFood.

"Now Grab already more than just a service to deliver people by prioritizing safety, but it's up to the service that brings us closer to the users. Kitchen by GrabThis food is a new concept that makes it easier for both merchants, users and driver-partners," explained the Managing Director Grab Indonesia Ridzki Kramadibrata, Tuesday (18/9).

Ridzki continued, this new concept was present because it was based on research Grab, there is a vacancy for the side demand which is high compared to the supply side, especially some food categories in some regions. This vacancy was finally taken as an opportunity to become Kitchen by GrabFood.

Of the many areas analyzed Grab, which experienced the highest supply shortage is West Jakarta. This area is taken for pilot project to be analyzed further before finally expanding to other cities. The exact location is on Jalan Panjang No. 77, South Kedoya.

Delivery can only be done up to a radius of 7 km from the kitchen location. The goal is that the delivery duration can be shorter, as well as efficient for partners. Ultimately benefiting merchants, customers and driver-partners themselves. Operational hours every day from 10 am to 10 pm.

"Usually merchants like difficulties when they have to expand to new areas. There is a lot to consider. This is logical. We want to minimize this risk by providing a special place for them, not needing a physical place because they only serve orders from GrabFood so productivity can be high."

For driver partners, this step makes delivery easier because it is closer and the process is not too long. Meanwhile for customers, they can choose various favorite menus in one location without having to be burdened with additional shipping costs.

Merchants featured in Kitchen by GrabFood is filtered based on demand from consumers in that location. Because it's still in shape pilot project, Grab choosing superior merchants who have absolutely no outlets in Jakarta and already have outlets.

They are Gudeg Yu Djum (Yogyakarta), Warung Anugrah Bawakaraeng (Makassar), Pondok Sate Pak Heri (Jakarta), Sop Buntut Ibu Samino (Jakarta), Calais Bubble Tea (outlets already spread throughout Indonesia), and Warung Bhakti (Jakarta). . Grab will continue to increase the number of merchants to occupy these prime locations.

"The current location can be occupied by more than six merchants. But now there are only six merchants who have joined. We provide a place, standard cooking equipment can be used immediately without having to rent and platforms. Grab. Later merchants will provide their own employees and other additions."

Before expanding to other locations, Ridzki admitted that his party would see the progress of Kitchen by GrabFood first.

Development GrabFood itself during the first quarter of 2018 is claimed to have grown four times in terms of GMV since it was first present in Jakarta in 2017. Now GrabFood is available in 30 cities and is planned to spread to all cities where services are available GrabBikes operate.
