Funding Opportunities for Startups With a Vision for the Welfare of Indonesian Farmers

Agro Market-Linkages SDG Fund is ready to inject up to $500.000 for startups and capacity building activities

Welfare of farmers in Indonesia is something we are trying to promote Agro Market-Linkages SDG Fund. This fund is a funding initiative in Indonesia for startups whose mission is to connect farmers in Indonesia to domestic and international markets. The current issue in the agricultural chain is that there are many things that prevent farmers from getting optimal results, so it is hoped that the participation of innovation can improve the welfare of farmers' lives independently.

This activity was initiated by UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), ANGIN (Angel Investment Group in Indonesia), and Challenger 88 (founded by the founder and former director of LGT Venture Philanthropy and former chairman of IIX Investments in Southeast Asia), and supported by the Canadian government. The Agro Market Linkages-SDF Fund exists to address several issues that are often encountered by social drivers in the agricultural sector, including those related to funding, capacity building and market access gaps.

Agro Market-Linkages SDG Fund in providing assistance to innovators adopts an approach blended finance, namely combining public and private funding sources to be provided in the form of direct debt investments (direct loan) worth $25.000 to $500.000. Generally, the recipient conditions are those who have proven themselves capable of playing a role in connecting small farmers to larger players along the agricultural chain.
