Kaskus (Back) Update Appearance, Total Overhaul Homepage

The largest forum site in Indonesia, Kaskus, last Monday (19/5) officially appeared with a new face. By not taking off the characteristic look "V-bulletin" legendary to millions Kaskuser the initial generation, this new look provides a much fresher interface than before with usage navigation which is also improved.

Kaskus named the update #KASKUSEvolution which can be monitored via the official Twitter account @kaskus. One of the most prominent of these changes is the basic color and layout of the menu navigation on the home page which is arranged in such a way for the convenience of users to browse thousands of users thread at Kaskus any time.

On the home page of the new version of Kaskus, it is indeed the page that has been revamped the most. As a site that runs content based mostly on user generated, the latest Kaskus home page seems to have been deliberately created to introduce almost all of the content and forum channels contained in Kaskus. This can be seen through the classification of various forums and Kaskus FJB products which are considered to have high traffic, such as: Top Forums, Top Products, Promoted Forums, Hot Services, and also Second-hand Goods.

Kaskus's seriousness in refreshing the appearance of the home page is also shown through its presence sidebar which displays all forum channels along with subforum-which is presented nicely and neatly arranged. The new thing that Kaskus also presented this time was embedding Top Kaskusers shown on the home page. This menu contains lists of top Kaskus users ranging from general users, moderators, to users regional leader.

Very different from the previous Kaskus display which was "quiet" with information on the home page, this time Kaskus is very rich in information displayed when users access the home page, it is certainly very good for users who are new to Kaskus and want to know the ins and outs from a site that was founded in 1999.

Kaskus update this time can also be said to be the first "work" of Kaskus new CEO Makmuri's sport is taking the place of Ken Dean Lawadinata at the end of 2013 yesterday (read also: Ken builds Tororo e-commerce). As a first step, the updates made by Sports with Kaskus are quite good – although at first glance it looks like Kaskus is still experimenting.

From the recent update, I hope Kaskus will also “update” the business model it operates, such as the Kaskus Ads service. A service that invites business people in Kaskus to advertise with facilities exposure which is better for a fee it looks like stagnate in the middle of the road and the news of its development is not clear. Of course, it would be better if Kaskus renewal could be allocated thoroughly on all sides so that Kaskus could further strengthen its position as the largest open forum for Indonesian society.
