Collaborating with Rumah123, Karir.com Embeds Mortgage Counters in the "Salary Benchmark 2.0" Feature

This cooperation is not exclusive, Career plans to cooperate with other parties for similar cooperation

Located at The Hook, Jakarta, yesterday (14/12) job search service Karir.com inaugurated the presence of Salary Benchmark 2.0. In this latest version, several new features are embedded that allow users to 'peek' at salary ranges in other industries and a Home Ownership Loan (KPR) calculator. For the mortgage calculator feature itself, Karir.com cooperates with Rumah123 as a partner with a non-exclusive partnership.

Salary Benchmark Features first introduced officially by career.com in November 2015 who was able to attend in collaboration with Kelly Services Indonesia, recruitment company and headhunter from the United States. Basically, this feature functions as a salary comparison that allows prospective applicants to find out the salary in the market for each level of the position and the same industry, where the user is currently working.

After update to version 1.2, now Salary benchmarks 2.0 has been officially introduced to the public. In this version, Karir.com collaborates with Rumah123 to embed the KPR calculator feature. In addition to calculating the installment price, if the price is right, users can also directly apply for a mortgage through the link available on Karir.com. The target for this new feature is the millennial generation, or the generation born between 1981-1994.

Another feature that is present in Salary Benchmark version 2.0 is the ability to 'peek' the salary ranges in different industries from where Karir.com users currently work. In this latest version too, Salary Benchmark can also provide recommendations for positions above the user's current position, which can be achieved by users with better performance.

Karir.com CEO Dino Martin said, “This feature actually comes from my own experience. When I first started working the first thing I thought about was buying a house, […] when compared to the current [generation] [millennials] it's far. Five years [of working] haven't thought about buying a house. […] While the fact is, the price of the house has never dropped.”

Based on data found by Karir.com, the average salary of the generation born between 1981-1994 in Jakarta is IDR 6,1 million per month. Meanwhile, according to Rumah123, To be able to pay for a house in Jakarta, you need a minimum salary of IDR 7,5 million per month.

Based on Salary Benchmark 1.2 data, currently there are only 17 percent of professionals in Jakarta who have a salary of IDR 7,5 million or more for the generation born between 1981-1994.

“With an income of Rp. 7,5 million, they can only buy a house with the highest price range of Rp. 300 million. Considering the number of mortgage installments, they can only pay in installments of up to IDR 2,2 million per month, or 30 percent of their salary," said Rumah123 Country General Manager Ignatius Untung.

Untung himself emphasized that housing prices in Jakarta are predicted to increase by 150 percent in the next five years. Meanwhile, according to Dino, the salary increase for the same period was only around 60 percent.

"So, if you want to own a house, you have to start paying in installments from now on," said Untung.

To use this mortgage calculator, users need to register themselves first at platform career.com. After that, he only needs to enter the price of the house he wants to buy, then a down payment of 30 percent and the loan limit will be automatically calculated by the machine.

One thing that is quite unfortunate is that this Salary Benchmark feature can only be accessed through the site desktop with and site mobile devices from Karir.com even though there is currently an application Android which is available. Even if the Salary Benchmark feature is already available in the application, mobile devices, the experience is not as good as what is available on the site desktop with or site mobile devices because I'm still having trouble finding it myself.

Karir.com itself is now under the auspices of the EMTEK Group after secretly acquired around February 2015. Despite being a pioneer in job search portals online, now the pool where Karir.com plays is actually quite crowded. In Indonesia, Karir.com needs to compete with job search portals such as Job.id, Jobstreet, Jobplanet, and many more.
