Justika Legal Services Marketplace Releases Special Application for Lawyers

The Justika legal services marketplace released the Justika Lawyer Connect application to accommodate advocates who have partnered with Justika and are directly connected with clients. This application is still limited to only selected advocates.

The presence of this application is part of a series of products that will be intensified by Justika after receiving Pre Series A funding with an undisclosed value from one of the major law firms in Indonesia, Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (AHP) at the end of January 2019.

"We want to finish product development. Since live in June 2018, we just had a consultation service via telephone. There is good problem from user we turned out to be them eager to request further services such as document creation, face-to-face consultation, to assistance, that's the product we're working on," said Justika CEO Melvin Sumapung to DailySocial.

Melvin explained that this special application for advocates will bridge all orders from clients who want to connect with certain advocates. The presence of this application is intended to facilitate advocates with high mobility, so it is feared that it will interfere with their operational time.

Later the application will notify the advocate regarding the request and the system will automatically arrange conference room. When the advocate has entered conference room In this case, the system will detect and contact the client to start a consultation session via telephone. There is a time reminder and a recording device that automatically turns on when a conversation starts.

"The timer is to make sure everything is exactly 30 minutes, it costs Rp. 299 thousand. Recorder it means need revisit if there is anything, which has previously been based on the agreement of both parties."

He said that Justika currently has 900 lawyers registered on its platform. However, there are only 11 lawyers who have actually served the client's needs. Melvin said this decision was taken because his party wanted to filter between the client's needs and the expertise specifications of the advocates.

This subsidiary of the online online media, Hukum Online, handles many problems regarding family, individual, and SME-scale businesses. Therefore, advocates who join Justika are expected to have expertise in this field. It is planned that this year the number of lawyers who can serve clients will be increased to 20-30 people.

"We want make sure what we provide to users is not only curated advocates, but the advocate's expertise can follow needs user. So the user needs to handle what cases, lawyermust match."

Advocates can partner with Justika after going through a verification process from Justika's internal. The company will further inquire about his area of ​​expertise, experience, whether he has an advocate license, what kind of network he has had, and what he has done during his career.

Regarding Justika's plan with the next AHP, Melvin said that his party made the sole investor a strategic partner for the company product knowledge. AHP is considered an expert partner not only in the field of law, but also in building a firm from zero to the size it is today.

Melvin said, although there has been no discussion on whether advocates from AHP will join as Justika's partners, they hope that AHP can provide assistance.

"We need to learn a lot from them [AHP] because they have a lot of experience, including building a law firm business," he concluded.

Since its establishment in June 2018, Justika has served clients in various locations, such as Gresik, Sumatra, Lombok, to Papua. Most of them are in the middle economic level. It is claimed that there has been a 10-fold increase in users so far.

"We are targeting consumers who are at the middle economic level because those at the top level are already clients law firm large, while the lower level is assisted by LBH," said CPO Justika Hafidz Kalamullah.
