JD.id Partners with RedBus to Provide Online Bus Tickets

It is expected that the contribution of OTA services at JD.id can reach 10% of the entire transaction

JD.id and bus ticket booking startup RedBus announced a business collaboration to complement JD Travel's services. Purchase bus and shuttle tickets from RedBus now it can be done through the JD.id application.

Head of Partnership, Alliance, and Virtual Category JD.id Abraham Harahap explained, his party hopes to provide more modes of transportation for consumers. The more complete JD Travel services are, of course, in order to welcome the routine moment of going home for Eid which will soon arrive.

"At the same time providing travel options for JD.id customers by providing complete, affordable and varied sales of shuttle and bus tickets," he explained to DailySocial.

Every OTA service available on JD.id, he continued, is the result of cooperation with third parties so that it is more practical, easy, cheap, and fast. They are also proven to have an OTA license, which the company does not yet have.

The reason for choosing RedBus is because this startup has complete routes for bus and shuttle tickets from various major operators in Indonesia. Technologically, it is already capable enough to support consumer needs.

Purchase of bus tickets can only be done through the JD.id application. The company provides payment options in installments of up to three months with 0% interest.

Abraham targets the presence of this additional service to contribute at least 10% of total sales at JD.id when all travel products are complete and perfect. Unfortunately, Abraham was reluctant to mention in more detail about JD.id's latest contribution.

JD Travel provides purchase of plane tickets, trains, and car rentals. Consumers can also book hotel tickets from various properties. AiryRooms is one of the OTA players listed in JD Travel.

RedBus itself has just announced its presence in Indonesia since last year. The company claims to have partnered with more than 110 leading bus and shuttle operators, creating 1400 unique routes connecting more than 150 cities. This year is expected to double the number of partners to 200 operators and sell 200 thousand seats every day.
