Want to Work on Gen Z Market, DANA Godok Several New Features

DANA users until May 2021 reached 70 million people, from the previous position of 50 million people YTD

DANA recorded an increase in users of more than 20 million people in the last five months amid the pandemic, the total to 70 million users. This increase was also accompanied by an increase in daily transactions to 5 million transactions, from the previous 3 million transactions at the end of last year.

The company noted that the highest average daily transaction occurred in May 2021. Compared to the same month last year, the growth reached 164%. The activities that are most used by users in the DANA application are QRIS payments, sending money, purchasing credit, making payments online commerce, and bill payments.

Users can easily make transfers to various platforms with DANA, such as mobile phone numbers, bank accounts, social media such as WhatsApp, or through agents and partner outlets for the recipient to collect in cash.

DANA Co-Founder & CEO Vince Iswara added, the increased transfer activity during the pandemic had its own impact in encouraging the spread of cashless culture among the community. "This strengthens our optimism for the increasing financial inclusion of the Indonesian people thanks to the technology we have developed," he said in a virtual press conference, Wednesday (23/6).

In order to strengthen the adoption of this future transaction culture, and make financial technology more inclusive, the company will continue to improve protection and user experience through progressive technology development.

Interestingly, this surge in performance was also contributed by the company's partnerships with TikTok, SnackVideo, and Helo to exchange coins and referral into a FUND balance. This balance can be used to transact via DANA, either to buy credit or to buy credit game vouchers. Although it is not stated how big the contribution is, this condition is a potential that the company will take seriously this year.

“From there, it combines user experience regarding the ease of transfers because receiving money is easier. We noted that p2p transfers at DANA have doubled, higher than transfers to banks in Ramadan 2," said DANA Senior VP of Product Rangga Wiseno.

As is known, the majority of TikTok users come from generation Z who in fact do not have an ID card. As a result, they were blocked when they went through the KYC stage. To answer this need, Rangga said that the company is currently preparing features that are planned to be announced in the near future.

"We also see that Gen Z likes to buy credit and game vouchers, we will Improve also here. There will be a lot of us Improve because Gen Z is now our focus segment as well," he added.
