How to use Google Authenticator on Tokopedia to make your account more secure
Complete tips for securing a Tokopedia account which we released earlier, today we will specifically discuss the extra security feature available in Tokopedia, namely the Google Authenticator feature that allows you to implement a second layer of security procedures in addition to passwords.
Preparation
- Download and install Google Authenticator app from Play Store.
- Once installed, do nothing. Proceed to the Steps step below.
Steps
- Open Tokopedia web from PC, then hover over profile and click Arrangement.
- Select menu Google Authenticator and scroll down then click the button Enable Google Authenticator.
- So, a page like this opens.
- Until here, hold on, don't close it.
- Now run the Google Authenticator app on smartphone you, and tap menu Scan a barcode.
- Point the camera at the barcode that appears on your PC screen until the code appears on your smartphone screen.
- Enter this code into the PC browser. Then click Verify.
- If successful, Tokopedia will ask for verification once again via SMS.
- Enter the code sent to the SMS and click Verify and you are done.
After you have gone through this process, every time you make a bank transaction, email and security question, Tokopedia will verify it through Google Authenticator. That way, only you who hold the smartphone can legalize access.
