Beware of Data Leaks, Here are the Steps to Securing Tokopedia Accounts

Tokopedia being hit by bad rumors, 15 million user accounts are said to be leaked and traded on the internet Dark web. It wasn't long before even much larger numbers surfaced, putting consumers at serious security risk.

This news suddenly made millions of Tokopedia users nervous, including me. So, then I felt compelled to share simple tips to anticipate this security issue.

• Run the Tokopedia application on smartphone you, then tap menu Account on the bottom right.

• Then tap the gear icon at the top right.

• Continue with-tap menu Account.

• First of all, change the password by tapping the menu Password.

• Start by typing in the old password and continue by entering the new password twice below it. Finally, tap Save.

• The next step is to go back to Manage Account and now tap Tokopedia PIN. This is an extra security feature that will be prompted automatically when you run the app for the first time or on a new device. With this feature, if someone else tries to access your account on another device, he/she must enter the correct PIN.

• Now the assumption is that the account breaker has pocketed your PIN data, then the step to prevent it is to change the PIN or if you don't have one, now is the time to activate this feature.
• Enter a PIN that is easy to remember but difficult to guess. Consists of a six-digit number of choice.

• Finally, an additional security measure that can help you monitor any device access. The trick, this time is to log in to your Tokopedia account on a PC browser, then tap your profile name to display the Settings menu.
• On the settings page, click the tab Security.

• On this page, you can monitor which devices accessed your account last time. If you feel there is suspicious activity, click the Sign out of all devices menu so that everyone who accesses the account will be automatically logged out.
