Hangry Reportedly Raised 205 Billion Rupiah Continued Funding

Alpha JWC Ventures and a number of investors participated; potentially boost the company's valuation up to $150 million

Culinary startup multi-brand all at once brand aggregators Hangry is reportedly in the middle of completing its latest funding round. From the data that has been inputted to the regulator, currently the value of the equity round that has been collected has reached $14,25 million or around 205 billion Rupiah.

Combined with round seed funding and series A obtained last year, the company's current valuation is estimated to be close to $150 million, cementing its status "centaurs".

A number of venture capitalists and angel investors participating in these investments, including Alpha JWC Ventures and Orzon Ventures. We've tried asking company executives for a statement. However, until this news is published, no response has been given.

Expand business model and expansion

Since being founded in 2019, Hangry has now operated 74 o the largest are in Jabodetabek, Bandung, Surabaya and Semarang. Until 2021, it was also stated that they had sold 10 million portions of food and drinks.

This fairly rapid expansion is supported by an ala business model cloud kitchen which was adopted. This is based on Hangry's operational model which prioritizes orders via application food delivery -- although recently they have also started providing options dine-in.

Apart from developing brand own food, this year Hangry also started a strategy brand aggregators. They will acquire it in full brand culinary delights that are considered to have potential to enter the product ecosystem. Last week, Hangry made the announcement its acquisition of Accha, a brand typical Indian food operating in Jakarta.

The entry of Accha will complement the product variants that Hangry already has, such as Moon Chicken, San Gyu, Kopi Dari Pada, and Ayam Koplo. However, Co-Founder & CEO Abraham Viktor confirmed that production brand New projects will continue to be carried out independently, along with the acquisition strategy which will begin to be intensified.

Apart from that, it also says, strategy brand aggregators also believed to be able to bring Hangry closer to his goal of serving the global market, so it is possible that in the future there will also be brand food outside Indonesia that will be acquired and included in its ecosystem.
