GrabTaxi Now Become Grab

GrabTaxi officially announced the change of company name to Grab. Name and new domains This is felt to be in line with the expansion of services Grab which is not only used to make taxi reservations, but also to order fleets GrabBikes and Grabcar.

As stated by the CEO Grab Anthony Tan, there has been an evolution in service Grab since the first time the service was launched in 2012. Now they are adding new transportation services throughout the region, either by car or motorcycle, as well as delivery services. No wonder the name GrabTaxi becomes irrelevant.

As the largest regional transportation startup in the Southeast Asia region, Grab has joined forces with Ola in India, Didi in China, and Lyft in the United States for jointly compete against Uber. They also have set up engineering center in Seattle, United States of America, to find technical talent.

In Indonesia alone Grab has launched various services, in the form Grabtaxi, GrabBikes, and Grabcar. Now they are operating in Jakarta, Padang, Surabaya, Bali and Bandung.

According to data Grab, quoted from Seconds, since mid-2015, recorded Grab gain growth in the number of rides 75% for GrabBike and 35% for GrabCars in Southeast Asia.
