Grab and BookMyShow Present "Ticket" Service Inside the Application

Planning to invest in six Southeast Asian technology companies in the near future

Aims to complete the ecosystem great app inside Platform, Grab officially partnered BookMyShow by launching the "Tickets" feature within the app. This India-based startup is the chosen startup in the Velocity program, an initiated Southeast Asian startup accelerator Grab Ventures.

Through this partnership, users Grab You can buy cinema tickets directly through the application based on a selection of cinemas that have collaborated with BookMyShow, including CGV and Cinemaxx.

"We have also integrated payments through OVO for users, so that it can facilitate the payment process as well as help users collect more GrabRewards," said the Executive Director Grab Indonesian Ongki Kurniawan.

Grab plans to expand the list of services offered through the Tickets menu, so that in the future users can purchase tickets for other entertainment events via tile this.

"We want to be committed to helping the fostered startups to accelerate their business growth. One of them is to become our partner while providing new choices to users Grab," said Ongki.

Investment focus in Indonesia

In a separate interview with Bloomberg Technology, Co-Founder Grab Tan Hooi Ling said, Grab no longer want to be known just for service ride hailing and Indonesia is a Southeast Asian country that is the company's main focus.

Ongki emphasized this. In his presentation, Grab this year plans to invest in more companies or startups that have businesses that are in line with their ecosystem.

In addition to adding partnerships, Grab also plans to focus on healthtech and insurtech. One of the partnerships that have been inaugurated is with Ping An Good Doctor from China last September. Ping An Good Doctor is an integrated health service with artificial intelligence which provides online-based health consultations. This is the first time Ping An Good Doctor operates in Southeast Asia.

"If it goes according to plan, in the second or third quarter of 2019 we will launch a direct consultation service with doctors in the application. We will strengthen this service by implementing technology artificial intelligence. So that in a short time, doctors can answer questions from a large number of users," said Ongki.

Ongki said that drug delivery services to users are included in The roadmap company. However, adjusting regulations from regulators regarding ordering prescription drugs online (e-prescription), Grab still making preparations and approaching the relevant regulators.

User and driver-partner safety
