Google for Mobile Becomes the Initial Effort to Give Birth to 100 Thousand Mobile Developers

Through a one-day workshop, hundreds of Indonesian developers had the opportunity to learn from Google product experts, industry leaders and other mobile developers

Some time ago, Google Indonesia announced a commitment to train 100.000 developers mobile devices Indonesia until 2020. That commitment echoed along with the opening of registration for the second wave of Google Launchpad Accelerator. Yesterday (31/3) Google took the first steps to realize its commitment through workshop Google for Mobile which lasts for one day.

Google Indonesia Head of Marketing Veronica Utami in her statement emphasized that it is very vital for Google to support developers mobile devices from Indonesia, especially in offering access to best practices when developing Android, considering that Indonesia is one of the main Android markets.

“Indonesia is a country mobile-first. Smartphones have become an inseparable part of the daily lives of Indonesian people and the startup scene is growing very fast in creating applications and games to meet consumer demand," he said.

Through workshop During this one-day event, hundreds of participating developers had the opportunity to learn from industry veterans and Google product experts. Participants also get tips and best practices on how to make quality products, interact with audience, and develop business on the platform mobile devices.

Some of the figures who were present included the Head of Business Development at Google Play Kunal Soni who provided tips and tricks to help developers reach users, be recognized and build a successful business on Google Play.

In addition, there is the CEO and founder of Halfbrick Studio, Shainiel Deo who shares his experience of success in producing several popular applications such as Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride and Monster Dash with the company he leads.

Also present were Touchten Games CEO Anton Soeharyo, Minimo Co-Founder Agung Subagiyo, and Inovidea Manga CEO Calvin Kizana who discussed global strategy for Indonesian developers. This discussion, moderated by Google Play Business Development Manager David Yin.

Over the next four years, Google Indonesia promises developers mobile devices Indonesia will get access to various references to start their Android expertise. There are three programs that will be boosted by Google in order to realize its commitment to train 100.000 developers mobile devices in Indonesia. The three programs are, Udacity online courses, partnerships through the University, and workshopIndonesia Android Chase (Learning Groups) in five cities.

Workshop These will be more intensive and will take place in Bandung, Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya and Yogyakarta to reach as many participating developers as possible.
