Goodbye Microsoft Money

Microsoft planning to close one of its products microsoftmoney, a software that helps users manage finances. Sales of this software will close at the end of this June.

Party Microsoft certify that existing users can still use the software and use online support services in accordance with the license (agreement) when purchasing Microsoft Money. Microsoft also acknowledged that Microsoft Money was forced to close because Microsoft wanted to prioritize products that were more profitable for the company.

A statistical fact does show that Microsoft Money sales in recent months have been declining, although it is likely that the decision to discontinue Microsoft Money has been taken long before this trend is seen. Matt Rosoff, an analyst said that the decision to discontinue Microsoft Money may be solely to cut spending, again due to the effects of the global recession.

After recently discontinuing microsoft encarta and Digital Image Suite there seems to be an indication that Microsoft will focus more on cloud services and corporate solutions than on small businesses. Somehow Microsoft always loses when it comes to small business and end-customer markets.
