Some investors Gojek previously finally contributed in the initial round of funding targets – including Google, Tencent, and JD.com – with a funding value of around $920 million (equivalent to almost 13 trillion Rupiah)

Reportedly Gojek will immediately announce the acquisition of funding officially this week. With the new round of funding, valuation Gojek could reach $9,5 billion--close to Decacorn status. Previously lots of news who reported Telkom's plan to participate in injecting capital into Gojek, but so far there has been no bright spot regarding the continuation of this news.

JD.com's involvement in the funding further strengthens the strategic partnership. Until this news was revealed, it seems that the plan has not been realized.

Strategic move Gojek really needed, because Grab as its closest competitor also continues to actively raise funds. In 2018 they are targeting total funding up to $3 billion. Several investors have joined in the funding, including from three well-known automotive companies namely Hyundai, Kia and Yamaha.
