Go-Pay Commercializes Payments via QR Code

Starting from non-cash alms, we will be more aggressive in placing QR Codes in various locations for various needs

Go-Pay is getting more expansive by commercializing payments via QR Code after obtaining permission from Bank Indonesia. In public, Go-Pay started it through alms by cooperating with Baznas while welcoming the month of Ramadan.

A number of grocery stalls, for example in Bulungan, Blok M, have also used QR Code payments. Before this collaboration was carried out, payments via QR Code could only be made within Go-Jek, such as at the Go-Food Festival.

"We will be more expansive in spreading QR codes in various locations," said Go-Pay Managing Director Budi Gandasoebrata, Wednesday (16/5).

Go-Pay is now also present on e-commerce sites by providing payments via QR Code. the one that DailySocial find is at Cottonink. On the site there is a payment option with Go-Pay, consumers will be directed to the Midtrans Snap page to complete the payment.

After opening the Go-Jek application, consumers are required to select the Scan QR option and point the camera at the QR code visible on the computer screen.

Partnership with Baznas

With Baznas, for the first step the QR code will be distributed in various locations in Greater Jakarta. For example in billboards, train stations, and 36 Baznas outlets in 12 malls, 20 office buildings, and public facilities. Gradually, Baznas will spread throughout Indonesia.

"We see this method not only makes it easier for the community but also alms will be recorded in our system, so that it becomes more transparent. This includes our efforts to improve services to the community," said Deputy Baznas Arifin Purwakananta.

Online alms are a way for Baznas to increase the number of donations, which continues to increase by around 40%. Digital channels are claimed to contribute about 30% of the total donation.

This year, Baznas targets to collect IDR 8 trillion in donations, with contributions in the month of Ramadan alone reaching IDR 3 trillion. At least Rp2 billion of which is expected to come from Go-Pay.
