Gnews Close Service
There is a difference in vision between management and other shareholders
At the end of this year, the story of closing startups is not over. Gnews, a social media-based news search platform, is closing its services. According to the information we received, the difference in vision between management and other shareholders was the main reason for the closure of this service. All Gnews employees have resigned or been laid off.
Gnews established almost 2 years ago as part of GDILab which specializes in analyzing social media trends. In contrast to GDILab which is now an analytics platform, Gnews is aiming to be a reading application (reader app).
Around a year ago, Gnews spin-off become a company of its own, with two co-founder GDILab, Yopie Suryadi and Masas Dani, exit and became CEO and CTO of the new company, respectively.
Was planning expansion to Southeast Asia, Gnews dream finally ran aground. GDILab itself persists and has secured a number offunding advanced.
Check out Yopie's views on social media trends and the use of machine learning to see consumer behavior in DScussion some time ago.
