Girnar Software and EMTEK Launch Otomotif Portal Oto.com in Indonesia

Girnar also owns the car sales site CarBay

Girnar Software, through its subsidiary CarBay Pte Ltd, and KMK Online, a subsidiary of the EMTEK group, launched the automotive portal Oto.com in Indonesia. CarBay integrates a news portal and car sales website, which come first, in one place. At the launch of Oto.com, EMTEK Group CEO Sutanto Hartono said that the choice of Girnar Software as a partner was a long wait for EMTEK to be able to complete its portfolio in the automotive sector.

"For us at EMTEK, this collaboration is a long search process to be able to play in the automotive field. It is hoped that in the future Oto.com can become the leading automotive portal in Indonesia," said Sutanto.

Girnar Software itself has been established since 2007 and already has a number of technology product portfolios in the automotive sector. Through this partnership, CarBay owns 70% of the company's shares and KMK Online will own 30%. For its own investment, Emtek invests around $25 million (around Rp. 320 billion) for technology, marketing, customer acquisition and others.

"With the investments that have been made, we believe Oto.com can be big and can be well received by the Indonesian people who want to find other alternatives in terms of looking for new and used cars or motorbikes," said KMK Online President Director Adi Satriaatmadja.

Oto.com's presence in Indonesia will compete directly with Carmudi, Mobil123, and iCarAsia.

Not just an ordinary automotive platform

At the Oto.com launch event, Oto.com CEO Mohit Yadav was also present who explained the differences between Oto.com and other players in detail. With a background of experience and technology applied, Oto.com claims to be the most complete and comprehensive mobile application in Indonesia.

"We have success story around 80% of car and motorcycle sales at dealerships are from users who see recommendations and car information from CarBay in India, this proves the potential of mobile to attract more users online to buy cars at dealerships," said Mohit.

The mobile application that is currently available for download on the platform Android and iOS have variety feature which can be used by users to get recommendations for new or used cars and motorbikes, ranging from prices, specifications, features, pictures, reviews, road test results, car types and brands, and online car guides. What is claimed to be an innovation that only Oto.com has are Virtual Reality a feature named Exclusive Feel the Car.

"We are proud to bring VR technology in applications for users who want to see the car from the outside to the inside with HD and clear images," said Mohit.

As an application that acts as an intermediary connecting consumers with automotive companies, Oto.com claims to have collaborated with 1500 dealers in Indonesia, with the largest number of car dealers in Jakarta.

"Besides Jakarta, the most dealers we currently have are in the cities of Medan and Surabaya. It is hoped that by the end of the year we will be able to get more dealers selling new and used cars or motorcycles." Mohit said.

Mohit also added that currently the search for new car recommendations is still the most, while used cars are still few in number. For the most use of the platform, Oto.com noted that it was still through the browser, followed by the desktop and applications.

"For marketing, we also continue to launch a campaign digital ads and other platforms that are expected to acquire more Oto.com users," said Mohit.

More services for car dealers

The integrated service provided by Oto.com is not only useful for users who want to experience more in terms of conducting online car searches, but also for car dealers who currently have not adopted digital technology to develop their business. Regarding dealers, Oto.com does not specifically curate or screen dealers and invites more dealers to take advantage of the technology owned by Oto.com.

"Overall, we provide dealers with the latest technology with the following features: dashboards complete and additional services which can help increase car sales. That's the monetization launched by Oto.com more for dealers, not for users," said Mohit.

For users, there are no special fees and prices, all the search processes and even downloading car guide books online can be done directly through the application for free. Oto.com also gives users the flexibility to compare vehicle models and provide the latest information on newly launched cars and motorcycles, price adjustments and various updates from the automotive industry.

"With our technological expertise and Emtek's extensive network, we believe Oto.com can lead the automotive portal market in Indonesia," said Mohit.
