Getting to know TaniHub and its Efforts to Welfare Farmers

Supported by TaniFund to help farmers with crowdlending model

The problem of the distribution chain of Indonesian farmers or breeders has become a serious concern for many parties. This then gave birth to many new startups in this sector. One of them is TaniHub. The three main problems that are trying to be solved are inefficient distribution chains, limited market access because farmers are rarely able to sell to large retailers, and payment terms that are burdensome for buyers.

Starting a business since August last year, TaniHub is slowly showing their existence as a platform that connects farmers and consumers. In addition, the ambition of the founders of TaniHub to overcome the problems in the agricultural sector which is quite large finally gave birth to TaniFund.

TaniHub which is approaching the age of one year, comes not only with technical solutions that rely on digital and mobile technology. TaniHub seeks to embrace various parties to create a synergy and good communication between farmers, business people, the government, as well as financial institutions such as banks.

From a concept point of view, TaniHub is a marketplace that connects sellers, in this case farmers with business people. TaniHub takes on a role as a place to support food product transactions that seeks to provide various features and services to ensure safety and comfort.

"TaniHub acts as a buying and selling intermediary where each purchase transaction will be paid in advance by TaniHub to the seller based on the invoice for the delivery of the food product to the buyer, and the buyer will pay the bill to TaniHub according to the terms and conditions of payment agreed upon by both parties," said TaniHub CEO Ivan Arie Sustiawan.

TaniHub is the beginning of the birth of other solutions in the agricultural sector

The TaniHub team seems to be still trying to improve the agricultural sector in their own way, with a technological approach. This was marked by the birth of the TaniFund service, a service crowdlending which allows people to invest in the agricultural sector. The limited access of farmers to banks is one of the main problems that TaniFund is trying to solve.

Ivan told DailySocial that his party, through TaniHub and TaniFund trying to work as much as possible can help farmers prosper through direct assistance with a competent team experienced in their field. They hope to provide the best for farmers and people who want to help the Indonesian agricultural sector.

“TaniHub and TaniFund ensure to embrace the best farmers who can produce products that meet the standards, the competent TaniHub team actively goes directly to the field to communicate directly and establish good relationships with farmer networks, such as through associations, to be able to connect with farmers choice," said Ivan.

So far, TaniHub has approximately 12.000 farmers connected to their system spread throughout Indonesia with the majority located on the island of Java. With the launch of TaniFund, TaniHub has taken it to the next level to become a complete platform to help the agricultural sector.

In a release that coincided with the launch of TaniFund some time ago, Ivan explained that one of his hopes is to be able to help people in the village to develop agriculture in their respective villages without having to go to the city to look for work. By channeling capital from cities to villages, it is hoped that it can help farmers to create many decent and fair jobs.
