Foodizz Presents a Special Education Platform for the F&B Industry

Provide paid classes with professional teachers

The increasingly widespread growth of the culinary industry in Indonesia is not accompanied by knowledge and broad insight from the management, business and experience side of the founder. No wonder many owners of large restaurants up to street vendors were forced to close in less than 2 years due to the tough competition and the growing number of culinary businesses.

Seeing this opportunity, Foodizz, a learning platform online to offline specifically for the F&B industry, present in Indonesia. The startup founded by CEO Andrew Ryan Sinaga, COO Rifki Ramdan, Content Advisor Rex Marindo, and Technology Advisor Gito Wahyudi wants to try to help culinary business people start and develop their business through a culinary business education platform.

"The failure rate of novice culinary businessmen reaches 90% (9 out of 10 fail in running a culinary business). The main factor that causes failure is not due to capital or networks, but lack of knowledge about the culinary business," said Andrew to DailySocial.

Supported by the existing team, the company tries to bridge the community who want to start their culinary business, through learning classes on the platform. Through the Foodizz website and application, which was officially launched in early January 2019, users can choose classes that have been provided with teachers from professional circles.

"Foodizz is the first F&B educational platform in Indonesia. We provide a learning experience online to offline for the learning community and has over 18.000 community members," said Andrew.

Choice of classes and subscription packages

To make it easier for users to determine the relevant study class, Foodizz has provided teachers from professional circles. They include Co-Founders of Warunk Upnormal Rex Marindo and Stefanie Kurniadi, former GM McDonald Indonesia Koko Handiono, CEO of Serasa Food Yuszak M Yahya, International Food Safety expert Syamsul Arifin, Sales Director of CRP Group Hendra Noviyanto, and Smart Legal Founder Bimo Prasetio.

The seven teachers will provide relevant information and education, to help users launch their culinary business.

"The point is that Foodizz provides online to offline learning facilities, in the form of an e-learning platform through applications and websites, as well as offline facilities through workshops, meetup, and also printed books," said Andrew.

Until now Foodizz claims to have around 1000 active users, and 150 of them are paid users. For the subscription fee itself, the company charges IDR 2,5 million for a 6-month subscription and IDR 3.5 million for a 12-month subscription.

"Specifically the business model of Foodizz is freemium subscription model as Netflix has implemented for its apps," said Andrew.

Asked whether Foodizz has any plans to raise funds, Andrew asserted, activities fundraising already part of the company's plans.
