Flou Becomes TelkomSigma Cloud Computing Product Diversification, Enters the SME Segment

In early December 2020, TelkomSigma introduced product cloud newly named "Flou". This solution is referred to as the company's new approach to accommodate the needs of business actors in the fast-changing digital era. Meanwhile, this solution can be used by customers since mid-2020.

In the launch event, Telkom Sigma Business & Cloud Director Tanto Suratno said that the market cloud increasing every year. In 2020 alone, it is estimated to be in the range of IDR 11 trillion with promising growth. It estimates the market cloud Indonesia will skyrocket to Rp24 trillion in 2021.

According to him, the solution cloud exists to disrupt and accelerate digital transformation. However, with the current pandemic situation, business actors are required to adapt quickly to changes. "In the future, we will see a bigger and more powerful wave of disruption, namely: cloud native computing," said Tanto.

Meanwhile, Director of Digital, Information Technology, and Operations at BRI Indra Utoyo who was present on the same occasion considered that the presence of BRI Flou be the right moment in this pandemic situation. "Covid-19 has become a kind of chief transformation officer that forces us all to transform. The essence of digital is how can create value. That's why we have to adapt in new ways because the market and consumer behavior are changing fast," he said.

There are several elements that Flo is focused on, including customer experience, reliability, and speed. Flo puts the experience first seamless pattern with a flexible payment system (pay-as-you go and subscription). Then, Flo also brings passing speed agile deployments (FIRE ready) with high performance for all industrial sectors.

All of these elements are prioritized to drive the concept cloud native mindset as Tanto mentioned above. According to him, the structure traditional monolithic apps which are widely used by business actors are considered no longer able to keep up with the rapidly changing market dynamics. This means that this concept can hinder efforts to digitally transform.

"Through Flou, we want to bring the concept cloud native apps to emerge a new paradigm and provide agility in supporting the rapid creation of applications, innovations and ideas. Nowadays more and more of the latest generation are born in a familiar era or where resource-it's in cloud. These are the so-called cloud native mindset,"said Tanto.

He assesses mindset can be raised through the features and tools provided by Flo. One of them is realizing the idea of ​​becoming an MVP faster. "Even if this idea goes into production, elasticity could be bigger. At this stage, the user does not need to think about how stairs and resilienceher," he added.

However, Tanto emphasized that Flou does not only accommodate the needs of market segments who are used to using cloud, but also new users online seamless, both SMEs and large-scale enterprises.

In terms of price, he claims that Flo's solution is able to minimize operational costs. He realized that generally an increase in the SME user base could result in an increase in rental costs cloud and connectivity.

"We understand that the rapidly changing market dynamics are a challenge for business actors. Because they are required to agile, we set pricing in such a way that business actors can maintain operational costs and continue to grow and enjoy profits. That way, they can develop their business and innovate in the future," he added.

In this segment, there are actually many local players selling infrastructure products cloud. Call it Biznet Gio, Cloud Kilat, Indonesian Cloud, and many more. Some also present product variants cloud like a VPS along with a solution hosting which is still widely used by small businesses because of its relatively lower cost.

Aiming for the top 3 share in Southeast Asia

Currently, TelkomSigma claims to have controlled 40 percent of the market share data center with a total accumulated area of ​​11 thousand square meters, storage capacity of up to 41 thousand Terabytes (TB), and locations spread across 16 points throughout Indonesia. Telkom guarantees a wider coverage of Flo with the support of facilities data center and its connectivity.

On the occasion, Director of Enterprise & Business Service TelkomSigma Edi Witjara said that this achievement was actually a challenge for the company to maintain its position as a provider of ICT solutions in the segment. enterprise.

In addition, Flou's development is considered to be able to become a spur to give birth to new business opportunities and models. According to his records, said Edi, the corporate segment contributed more than 50 percent of the company's revenue, followed by the government segment (23%), and SME (21%).

"TelkomSigma's aspiration in the next 3-5 years is to become a top 3 in Southeast Asia. We believe this opportunity can be pursued, one of which is through the presence of Flo.
