Five Tips to Pursue Ideas After Brainstorming
Starting from using sticky notes, combining ideas into new ideas, to making priorities
Getting ideas for business development, doesn't always come from yourself. Could come after brainstorming with the business team, because basically the idea comes at any time.
But for the scenario brainstorming, the way to get ideas to come is to take a step back. You need to take the time to re-evaluate all existing ideas by narrowing them according to the angle you are aiming for.
In article this will be discussed in more detail which may be useful for your team, after doing brainstorming. Here's a summary:
Use sticky notes to sort ideas
Write all the best ideas in sticky notes and start ranking in those notes. For example, if you have 25 ideas, start ranking each one from best to worst in a stack of five papers each.
After that take the top 10 and start narrowing down again. Repeat until you only have the few ideas you need. You can use the Trello platform, which is shaped like a kanban board, if you and your team are not in the same room.
Combining a number of ideas
To do this, you can divide ideas into categories. Then combine ideas and create from there. Examine the equations and see which one fits your business model best when applied.
By combining ideas, then deconstructing, and reconstructing ideas will produce the best ideas. It reflects teamwork and you can be sure that all members of your team will love the results.
Take a break
Generate new ideas every day and strive to make them happen. Then wake up the next day and do the same. You need to take a break by taking a minute to review old records. Activities like this will trigger a fresh mind and a more objective perspective.
Depends on the level of urgency
Working in a startup company, forces you to work fast. The decision-making process must be fast and precise according to the company's needs. To determine which idea you should take, you should consider the element of urgency as something that takes precedence.
If you are not used to understanding the definition of what is 'important' and 'urgent'. You can use a Gantt chart, to determine where resources are available and when to allocate them.
Prioritize by impact, confidence and convenience
Use the ICE framework to determine the ideas with the highest impact. What are the most influential things? What do you believe in the most? How easy is it to do? Then answer the question by scoring each idea.
From there, you will have a priority list. Then realize these ideas one by one according to the resources you have. However, when you find an idea that is not realistic to be realized even though it is in the middle of the road, it is better to continue until it is finished.
