PriceArea New Features: News and Deals

PriceArea added two new features to their search and pricing service, the two new features are News and Deals.

For the News feature, PriceArea provides pages for their users who want to read news with various categories ranging from books, gadgets, motorcycles, cellphones, to technology.

The news content in the News PriceArea feature is obtained from various local news sites such as from Detik, Kompas, OkeZone, TeknoUp, Ketok, Ini, Maniatekno, Akacom, Samsung. This news provided in Indonesian only provides news about products, services and shopping. Users can also read news directly on the PriceArea website or read from original sources, besides that users can also perform searches to make it easier to find certain information.

It's just that some news seems lacking Update, for example the news on the 23rd but is included on the News page in PriceArea on the 30th. Some news just don't need it Update which is too soon, but for new products it seems like it would be better if the news date on PriceArea is not too long from the release date, especially if the news serves as supporting information for users to view deal or sources of information that users use to purchase certain products.

For the Deals feature, users can get information related to items and prices that are currently in promo, special offers or discounts, users can see a list of items and prices that are being discounted from various categories and various merchant. This info is intended by PriceArea as a source of information for users who want to get special prices on various items and prices they are looking for.

This feature is similar to the main search service PriceArea, but only displays items and prices that are currently on promo or discounted prices.

From the PriceArea service update this time, the main search column only provides the main search service for goods and prices while to search for Deals and News, users must enter their respective menus, maybe it would be better if additional options could be given for users on the page the main thing, whether they will do a search to get search results as a whole or just for Deals/News only.

As we know, PriceArea is one of the startup who gets funding from East Ventures, another service also recently getting funding from East Ventures is Disdus, which is a service daily deal. When I ask about the possibility of collaborating between these two services, for example PriceArea will show later deals from service daily deal, Bima from PriceArea said there are no plans in that direction, while for integration with portfolio Another East Ventures, there will be but PriceArea is now concentrating on developing the features to support their service.
