Fashion Curated Platform Offers Fashion And Beauty Product Recommendations

Relying on information and experience from 150 fashion bloggers in Indonesia, Fasyen which was founded in 2014 by Valen and Kuffy Fan tries to answer the needs of Indonesian women to get recommendations from others. fashion and beauty enthusiast, beautician, fashion expert, and of course fashion blogger.

The products offered by Fashion include beauty products, clothing, makeup, shoes, bags, accessories and others. "Currently the recommendations presented by the media are in the form of recommendations from experts with mainstream, Fashion tries to offer new choices for fashion and beauty lovers in Indonesia,” said Valen.

Fashion combines the technology and convenience offered by Instagram as a photo-sharing platform. Photos that have been taken can then be uploaded to Fasyen to share information about beauty products to fashion with other users. The difference is that if on Instagram only hashtags, tags, and locations can be embedded, through Fashion, consumers cantag brands, prices, and places to shop. To make it easier to search specifically, hashtags, categories, styles, and materials can also be used.

“This way we can arrange based on user-generated content makes it easier for users to find the desired product without having to look at other products that are not relevant," said Valen.

A simple example contained in the Fashion feature is that if a user wants to search for facial whitening beauty products, they can directly write the hashtags "whitening" or "whitening”, later the products that appear are a variety of choices recommended by fellow users to beauty consultants.

Another feature that can be utilized is curated content from the Fashion editor based on posts from users. These choices will be made in categories such as Top 10 Facial Whitening Products Made in Korea, all posts from users are collected and will be published, thus users also have the opportunity to become trendsetter beauty products to fashion.

“Fashion also offers reward that can be obtained by the user in the form of adding points to a level which can later be exchanged in the form of giveaway from a well-known brand,” continued Valen.

Marketing through social media to fashion bloggers

Targeting women aged from 16 to 35 years, the promotions carried out by Fasyen are still relying on influence fashion bloggers who generally have a large number of follower a lot, whether on Instagram, blogs, or other social media platforms.

Similar to promotions carried out by other products, Fashion also offers referral codes form invitation which can be used by users or bloggers to download the Fashion application on the Android platform (there is an APK file that can be downloaded directly on the Fashion site).

“We don't want to directly launch the app to the public to avoid any error or other obstacles. By using referral codes We want to filter users from among bloggers or selected users first until our application is ready to be launched in the near future,” said Valen.

Even though Fasyen has not yet sold their products, they claim to have more advantages that they can offer fashion and beauty product lovers in Indonesia.

“Our advantage is of course the service mobile devices, then Fasyen focuses on exploring direct information in the form of the latest products in the form of photos from users, thus providing a different experience,” said Valen.

In order to improve their existing services, their next plan is to optimize product market fit. Fashion will also continue the program referral codes in the form of Invitation only to users to get feedback.

"Currently Fashion is still making preparations trials and errors for our application on Android which is planned to be launched next November,” concluded Valen.
