Facebook launches status update feature via ATM machine

Facebook announced a new feature, namely status updates via ATM machines. This feature was opened simultaneously on April 1, 2009 at exactly 00:00:00 Palo Alto time, California, or Tuesday, April 1, 2009 at 12:00 Noon WIB.

This feature has been installed in hundreds of thousands of ATM machines worldwide (567,902 ATM machines were recorded as of March 31, 2009 at 00:00 Paulo Alto California time), including a total of 880 ATM machines in Indonesia.

You can search for ATM machines with the Facebook Enabled logo sticker, then with that machine, it will allow you to update the status through the ATM machine. Currently, 115 beta testers of Indonesian citizens have been collected who were given the opportunity to test Facebook status updates through ATM machines operating in Indonesia (Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Denpasar, Makassar, Medan).

Facebook's Head of Application Development, Mark Morisson, stated that this application can help users record the activation transfers that have been made, of course privacy such as the amount transferred to partners can be kept confidential. This feature only reminds the user that that day the user has made a transfer to a certain person.

The IT Operations Manager of a private bank has welcomed this idea plan when it was rolled out 6 months ago, and prepared 10% of ATM machines for testing during the period from February to mid-March, and the results were very good. Our customers are more satisfied, and can remember whether they have paid off credit card bills this month, have paid PLN bills, phone credits this month and so on.
