Expanding Ecosystem with Shareholders, LinkAja Ambitious to Continue Positive Achievements

LinkAja users are claimed to have more than 61 million people, up 65% yoy

LinkAja will continue to play its role as payment methods for essential sectors in Indonesia, by utilizing the ecosystem that has been and will be built with its shareholders. The hope is that the company can maintain the positive achievements that were successfully made last year.

In an official statement, it was revealed that LinkAja managed to increase the number of users to more than 61 million people or grew 65% yoy, as many as 73% of them were users in the second and third tier areas. This achievement is also reflected in the increase in transactions and volume by more than four times.

Revenue LinkAja by yoy increased by more than 250%. This is influenced by an increase in the number of merchant local to more than 900 thousand or growing five times, and more than 315 merchant nationally or doubled.

“We are very grateful for the trust of users and millions of partners who believe in LinkAja's performance. The pandemic and various other challenges will not dampen LinkAja's efforts in providing equitable access to finance and the digital economy for all Indonesians," said LinkAja President Director Haryati Lawidjaja in an official statement, yesterday (13/1).

He also explained the company's other achievements, including being the most complete digital payment tool for public transportation services and services online in 230 modes of transportation, 5500 Pertamina gas stations, more than 32 thousand businesses digital donation, and more than 5 thousand E-commerce, payments and purchases of daily necessities such as credit, electricity tokens, BPJS, and other financial services, namely transfers to all bank accounts and cardless cash withdrawals.

"LinkAja can be used at more than 1 million transaction points for top-up and balance withdrawals, which include ATMs, banking transfers, retail networks, to digital financial services."

Separately, when contacted DailySocial, LinkAja Marketing Director Edward Killian Suwignyo added, LinkAja has also expanded its presence as a payment method in GrabFood, after previously it could only be used for transportation in Grab. This presence has had quite an impact on LinkAja's existence, especially now Grab login as ranks of shareholders.

“LinkAja has also entered into other financial services such as insurance payments, development paylater, to investment. All of these ecosystems can also be accessed through the LinkAja Syariah Service which is certified by the MUI DSN," he said.

Regarding LinkAja's strategy this year, Edward is reluctant to reveal further. He only ensures that the expansion of the ecosystem is the key for the company to make a positive performance last year. Therefore, this focus will continue this year.

The ranks of shareholders in LinkAja are Himbara, Jasa Marga, Telkomsel, Taspen, KAI, Danareksa, Jiwasraya, and Grab. “Besides, an increase user experience in the LinkAja application is also our main concern, to be able to provide customer experience the best. We hope that LinkAja will become the main payment tool for the daily needs of the Indonesian people."

Looking at the statistics of Bank Indonesia, from the beginning of the year to October 2020, there were 3,8 million transactions with electronic money or Rp. 163,4 trillion.
