In written works in the form of papers, scientific works, reports, and so on, an introduction is needed so that the reader understands the subject matter. Usually this introduction is on the first page of a paper.

To facilitate the writing, understanding, and appreciation of the structure of the foreword, the following are descriptions and examples of forewords for various works. The purpose of the introduction is to make the reader understand that the author has gone through a lot to complete his work and has received help from many people to prepare it.

According to the Big Indonesian Dictionary, a preface is a brief and clear introduction or general view as an introduction to a written work.

The introduction is divided into three parts: introduction, body, and end.

1. The opening paragraph is from paragraphs 1 to 2 of the introduction.
2. This section contains the author's acknowledgment for completing the written work.
   The content section contains a brief description of what the job is about. The author gives the title of his work. The author usually also includes the names of the people who contributed to the completion of the paper.
3. The conclusion contains the apologies and expectations of the author or the resulting paper or report. Apologies tend to be more intentional if grammatical errors are discovered later.

Praise and gratitude we extend to the presence of Allah Almighty for His blessings and grace so that the Guidelines for the Implementation of Applied Research in the Focus Areas of Social Humanities, Cultural Arts, and Domestic Field Research Education (Small) at the Assessment and Learning Center (Pusmenjar), Research and Development Agency Development and Books, Ministry of Education and Culture, in 2021 can be completed.

Guidelines for the Implementation of Applied Research in the Focus Areas of Social Humanities, Arts and Culture, and Domestic (Small) Field Research Education are prepared in accordance with the development of research implementation regulations within the Ministry of Education and Culture, one of which refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia concerning Input Fee Standards applicable.

This manual contains the title of the research, the requirements and procedures for proposing proposals, criteria for evaluating proposals, research schedules, evaluating research proposals, as well as monitoring and evaluating the implementation of research. This guide serves as a basic operational reference for the management and implementation of Applied Research activities in the Social Focus Areas of Humanities, Arts and Culture, and Domestic (Small) Field Research Education at Pusmenjar and is expected to be able to provide research direction according to the research title that has been determined.

We would like to thank all those who have contributed to the preparation of this guide. Hopefully this guide can provide benefits for all interested parties and create a culture and scientific research climate in Pusmenjar. Amen.

Praise and gratitude the author prays to the presence of God Almighty who has bestowed His grace and guidance so that the author can complete the writing of a Thematic Real Work Lecture proposal from the Bogor Agricultural University, entitled "Development of Agro Ecotourism Models and Optimizing the Potential of Sagarahiang Village as a Supporting Village for Mount National Park Ciremai (Case Study: Sagarahiang Village, Darma District, Kuningan Regency)" which was carried out from June to July 2019.

The author's gratitude goes to Mrs. Dr. Ir. Arzyana Sunkar, M.Sc as the field supervisor, Mr. Iman Budi Kortana, A.Md as the Head of Sagarahiang Village and his staff, and Mr. Ukad as the manager of historical sites in Sagarahiang Village who have provided suggestions, directions, and input.
