EMTEK Secretly Officially Acquires Karir.com

Three months after us preach rumors about acquisition EMTEK Group (PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi) to career.com, it turns out that this information is actually proven. EMTEK has quietly officially acquired this Indonesian job marketplace service. EMTEK is an Indonesian media conglomerate group which is also a holding company from Lakupon, NexMedia, SCTV, Indosiar, and O Channel.

The SCTV office is now the main image that welcomes visitors to Karir.com and if we check at the bottom of the page we will see the statement:

Karir.com is now part of the EMTEK Group. An integrated group of companies with three main business divisions: Media, Telecommunications and IT Solutions, and Connectivity. For Online Media, some of their portfolios are Liputan6.com,lakupon.com, vidio.com and now Karir.com. Stay tuned for the transformation of Karir.com for Indonesia.

There is no official announcement for the media, at least as far as we know, but the statement should provide enough (financial) support for Karir.com to strengthen its business. Established since the dotcom era, Karir.com, which is based in Jakarta, has not been heard of for a long time.

We hope that there will be interesting changes for Karir.com, considering that this service is quite lagging behind when compared to foreign services targeting similar markets in Indonesia, such as JobsDB, Jobstreet, or Monster.
