Emtek and Blackberry Long Term Deal

Already have dedicated teams in Waterloo, Mississauga and Otawa in Canada as well as Singapore, Jakarta, United Emirates and South Africa

Today, the CEO of KMK Online, Adi Sariaatmadja, officially delivered his explanation about Emtek's long-term partnership with Blackberry. As has been reported previously, that the deal between BBM and Emtek was worth $207,5 million (approximately IDR 2,7 trillion) over the next 6 years. The news was then tried to be corrected by Adi representing Emtek and BBM.

"First, there is confusion in the news regarding the terms used in the agreement, which is reported to be worth $207,5 million for a period of six years. This gives the impression that this partnership will end after six years and is not appropriate," Adi said in a release to DailySocial.

The release did not mention how long the agreement between Blackberry and Emtek was, however, Adi emphasized that the two companies saw a great opportunity to grow the BBM consumer business not only in Indonesia but also globally.

In addition to taking advantage of the features in the channel available, on BBM you can also enjoy Emtek's content with the main source from video, platforms video streaming and Emtek's content.

Another thing that was also mentioned by Adi Sariaatmadja was the 100 percent ownership which was reportedly fully owned by Emtek. In this case Adi confirmed that the license for BBM software and its intellectual property rights (IP) are indeed owned by Emtek, henceforth Emtek will operate the platform for consumers in Indonesia, on the other hand Blackberry will also continue to develop through BBM Protected.

"Many small businesses in Indonesia use BBM to communicate with their customers. After we added the payment feature there was nothing we couldn't do. BBM has now become a more useful application for offline merchant, said Adi.

Through KMK Online, Emtek's digital content unit has been formed to operate BBM.

"We have set up an office in Toronto so we can work intensively with Blackberry. We also have teams in Waterloo, Mississauga and Otawa in Canada as well as Singapore, Jakarta, United Emirates and South Africa. It is clear that we are not leaving after just a few days. years," said Adi.

Of course there are still many plans that will be implemented by KMK Online to develop BBM in Indonesia, starting from connecting users with internet merchant, combines data warehouses and enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to provide BBM content to users. But the most important thing is to create a perfect mobile ecosystem.
