Eleven Months of Operation, Iruna Focuses on Technology Improvisation

Prepared for expansion plans in 2018 with partnership model

In Indonesia, the logistics industry is still very relevant to be explored. The potential is very strong, supporting business processes for other industries – both digital such as E-commerce as well as conventional retail businesses. This belief has made several players, both local and international, continue to try to innovate and offer new approaches.

One of them is Irene. CEO Yan Hendry Jauwena said that currently there are still gap which is quite significant in relation to technology adoption, especially when it comes to logistics industry support for E-commerce. This is because technology adoption in the logistics line is not as fast as other business processes it supports.

Talking about technological innovation, recently Iruna introduced a new system called "Moving Hub System". Applied to optimize logistics transportation route arrangement for goods delivery efficiency.

"The system makes use of the fleet of we currently exist as moving hubs for exchange points for RIDERS us after doing pick up before doing delivered"explained Henry.

The Moving Hub System in the Greater Jakarta area is designed to replace the Hub and Spoke pattern on existing couriers in general. The reason Iruna doesn't use Hub and Spoke is for the purpose of cost efficiency and speed of delivery.

Product development journey for 11 months of operation

One of the products that has been completed by Iruna is Iruna Power Seller, which is an application mobile devices designed to be a business dashboard for customers. Includes service system end-to-end from Iruna, starting from service channel management, fulfillment center, and last mile delivery. All can be monitored through one single application.

In addition, there is also LEANBOX Technology, which consists of three main systems, namely the Warehouse Management System, Transport Management System, and Rider Application equipped with e-signature and visual receiver image capturing function. For technology updates from Iruna, the new average is applied to business operations in Jakarta and Surabaya.

“Currently Iruna has served customers well E-commerce platforms such as Tokopedia, Blibli, Sale Stock etc. In addition, Iruna also accommodates deliveries for online stores, sellers on Instagram and corporations. On average there are 15 thousand orders per week dominated by the Greater Jakarta area and big cities in Indonesia, the furthest Iruna shipments have reached Labuan Bajo," said Hendry.

Currently, one of Iruna's other agendas is to establish strategic cooperation with several logistics players such as JNE, Lion Parcel, ESL, Atri Express and several others to strengthen services. last mile delivery.

Currently preparing for expansion and funding

Expansion will be the main agenda in 2018, and Iruna has a unique approach, which is to start by finalizing operations from the technology side. This is done considering that the expansion that will be promoted is a strategic partnership model.

Hendry explained, "The expansion that will be carried out is the model partnerships with various parties, including domestic logistics players who are also members of related associations to fulfill needs fleet and warehouse. Iruna will further empower her technological power so that it remains a company light assets but laden on the side tech development especially in the area logistics operations for collaboration."

For business acceleration, Hendry said that currently his party has discussions with several venture capitalists and investors for further funding. But unfortunately at this time the information can not be shared in more detail.
