Echelon Indonesia 2016 Officially Opened

With the theme Empowering through Innovation, the event will be held 5 - 6 April 2016 in Jakarta

Event Echelon Indonesia 2016 has officially opened. The event, which was held at Balai Kartini, presented 3 main stages, sessions keynote and writers and events that synergize technology, business and lifestyle to support innovation.

The event was opened by representatives of the organizers (DailySocial.id and e27.co) and attended by representatives from the government, including Ricky Pesik, Vice President of Bekraf. The Echelon Indonesia 2016 event itself was organized by e27.co and DailySocial.id and supported by Bekraf.

With the main theme Empowering through Innovation This two-day event is divided into three main stages (Start, Scale and Steer), each of which presents interesting content ranging from ecommerce, investment theme, development startup, hardware, transportation, social entrepreneurship, human resource development and various other themes.

apart keynote, panel discussion and pitching by startups that entered the TOP100 Startup Program from Indonesia, the event was also enlivened by exhibitions from various startup with various segments.

Thaddeus Ko Co-founder and COO of e27 said in a press release that this year apart from being platform for startup, corporations and SMEs get together and discuss about the growth of technology that supports all aspects of business, Echelon also places emphasis on ecommerce and FinTech as one of the fastest growing segments. With the support of the government, especially in e-commerce roadmap, it is hoped that the actors involved in the industry can work together to bring technology-based businesses to a more developed direction.

Rama Mamuaya, founder and the CEO of DailySocial.id added that with this event, it is hoped that all aspects of the business can discuss and gain mutual benefits insights from various presenters in order to be better prepared to welcome the digital era. Rama also added that the organizer hopes that business people can be more open and innovate by applying technology as the basis of their business in the future.

The Echelon Indonesia 2016 event itself will be held from today, April 5 to April 6, 2016. There are at least 64 booths that can be explored to network with each other. There will also be many investors and digital ecosystem players who will attend. The government also opened two booth, do not forget the sponsors who also greet visitors who come.

Message from Bekraf representatives

Bekraf representatives congratulated the opening of the 2016 Echelon Indonesia event. In his remarks, Ricky Pesik as Vice President of Bekraf also explained several Bekraf programs and plans to be achieved by 2019.

As a new agency in charge of 16 creative sectors, it has three main targets until 2019 or during the Jokowi presidency. The three main targets include: an increase in the contribution of creative products by 13 percent, an increase in the workforce in the creative sector by 13 million and the export contribution of creative economic products by 10 percent.

This program or main target is to make the creative economy one of the biggest contributors to the economy

Meanwhile, in terms of technology, several sectors that are in contact include applications and services game developer, animation, media. Bekraf also has a program to provide a forum that discusses IT in the creative economy.

Ricky also explained several IT-related activities that have started and will be launched, including Coding MUM, the preparation of an integrated ecosystem for  pre-startup named Defender UP. Bekraf also plays a role in providing input to the president regarding what kind of ecosystem Indonesia needs in the future from an IT perspective.

Bekraf is also explained as having a role to help and create a better ecosystem for IT, as well as providing input on regulations, whether new or improving existing ones. This input is recommended by decision makers including the president, the goal is to be more adaptive for the advancement of a more advanced technology ecosystem.

After remarks from the organizers and representatives of Bekraf, the 2016 Echelon Indonesia event itself was immediately held by presenting selected speakers on 3 different stages. Another representative from the government, the Minister of Communication and Informatics, is also scheduled to attend before lunch.

The 2016 Echelon Indonesia event was also attended by government representatives other than Bekraf. The Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara was also present and gave a little 'welcome' to the participants on the main stage of Echelon.

Although he did not specifically prepare a presentation related to the theme of the Echelon event, Rudiantara still gave a brief presentation on infrastructure which is the backbone of ICT development, as he mentioned in the presentation, without infrastructure digital will not work. Rudiantara explained about the palapa ring project, which is expected to be completed in early 2019 for the Western and Central packages.
