DycodeX Develops JogjaBike, a Classic Bike “Bike-Sharing” Platform in Yogyakarta

DycodeX develop solutions end-to-end for JogjaBike, service bike sharing classic bike in Yogyakarta. Officially launched on Saturday (27/10) in Malioboro by the Mayor of Yogyakarta Haryadi Suyuti and the initiator of JogjaBike Muhammad Aditya, DycodeX produce 20 kits for 20 Jogjabike bikes to provide experience bike sharing safe and comfortable for residents and tourists.

The realization of JogjaBike is also supported by Pertamina as a sponsor. Currently, the use of the JogjaBike service is still completely free. The technology developed by DycodeX focuses on bicycle access and security systems – not yet designed for payment systems.

For JogjaBike, DycodeX implemented SmarterBike technology, bicycle management system and bike sharing which they had previously developed. Smarterbike technology is designed with the full integration of the entire system in mind so that hardware and are interconnected in an ecosystem bike sharing.

"Focus DycodeX in the products launched are more directed at providing solutions that are expected to be useful in Indonesia. So not only bike sharing, we want the solutions we offer can be used by a wider community," said DycodeX CEO Andri Yadi to DailySocial.

Currently, JogjaBike has five main features. First is the system smart lock which can be unlocked by scanning a QR code through the app. Then the second there is an LED screen on the bike to provide information about the distance traveled and the remaining time of the rental.

The third is the internet connectivity feature via GSM to provide continuous data feedback. Fourth, with the accelerometer the system is designed to be able to automatically detect accidents or intentional damage. And lastly, solar panels for charging.

Currently, the JogjaBike application is only available on the Android platform. For iOS will follow in the future.
