Smart watches are well known, but not much bought yet

Apple Watch 3 has just been launched, shortly after the release of the Android Wear operating system version 2. Luxury watch brands have started producing smart watches. Consumers are also carefully starting to become familiar with the Smart Watch & Wearables product category, including in Indonesia.

The 2017 Smart Watch & Wearables survey was conducted to measure the response of the Indonesian consumer market to smart watches, fitness bands, and various Wearables devices as of September 2017. The survey was conducted by DailySocial.id in collaboration with the JakPat Mobile Survey Platform, on a sample of smartphone users around the world. Indonesia. Some of the survey findings include:

  • Although it can be said that almost all respondents have heard of the term Smart Watch, only 43.15% stated that they had ever owned a Smart Watch.
  • 78.33% of respondents who have never owned a smart watch or smart band, feel that the current price of a smart watch/fitness band is still too expensive.
  • 45.08% of respondents do not know that there is an economical price fitness band that is sold for under Rp. 300.000
  • Although 76.45% of respondents know that Apple Inc. manufactures smart watches, in contrast only 21.43% of respondents know that Motorola also produces smart watches.
