DailySocial Report: Virtual Goods and Digital Goods Survey 2017

It's getting common among the people

Currently digital consumers are quite used to transacting with 'Virtual Goods', such as buying Go-Pay Credit or Grab-Pay Credit to pay for online motorcycle taxis, or buy digital music and smartphone apps on the iTunes Store and on the Google Play Store. But this is also a new development. You could say that a year or two ago, Indonesian users were still much more comfortable paying motorcycle taxis online with cash than with Go-Pay.

This survey was carried out by DailySocial.id in collaboration with JakPat Mobile Survey, with the aim of measuring the attitudes of Indonesian consumers towards Virtual Goods and Digital Goods. Survey received responses from 1051 respondent panels, run

one day only on August 30, 2017. Some of the survey findings include:

  • 69.74% of respondents have purchased apps from the Google Play Store at least once
  • Only 24.26% of respondents stated that they had never bought online games or apps.
  • 64.13% of respondents feel that virtual transactions are now quite safe
  • 34.54% of respondents have purchased physical online store vouchers at Indomaret, Alfamart, or other online stores
