Culinary SaaS Startup “Runchise” Announces Initial Funding

Funding led by East Ventures, supported by Genesia Ventures, Arise, Init-6, Prasetya Dwidharma, Alto Partners, and angel investors

Startup developer of SaaS services for the culinary business Runchise has announced an early-stage funding of an undisclosed value. This investment round was led by East Ventures, followed by a number of investors including Genesia Ventures, Arise MDI Ventures, Init-6, Prasetya Dwidharma, Alto Partners, and a number of angel investors.

This is not the first time that SaaS that is specific to the culinary industry has been present, previously there was Esensi Solusi Buana (ESB) which also focused on this area. Even the startup, which is supported by Alpha JWC and a number of investors, has recorded series B funding this year worth $29 million or around 420 billion Rupiah.

Runchise itself is here this year, founded by Daniel Witono, previously known as founder Journal (acquired by Mekari). In interview with DailySocialid in June 2022, he said that Runchise was built as a "outlet management solutions".

By using technology, we believe that entrepreneurs will be able to increase their profits and increase their profits output from effort. Runchise is here to be a solution for culinary business owners, providing culinary businesses with a complete solution in one platform where the needs of all culinary business operations can be met," said Daniel as stated in his official release.

Daniel also said that one of Runchise's main market segments is the franchise business (franchise). Issues about management to coaching franchise is still a challenge that is often felt by the owner brand F&B. Starting from the lack of transparency of the franchisee to the use of raw materials that are not appropriate.

There are three main services served Runchise. The first is Supply Chain Management, the task of which is to facilitate the operation of restaurants that have a lot of o, starting from managing and procuring stock, raw materials, to flexible company data access arrangements. Second, there is a Point of Sales, which facilitates the transaction process with customers. And third, Online Ordering, to make it easier for store owners to integrate with services food delivery.

Runchise will allocate funds from investors to add talent and strengthen the team, develop products and marketing initiatives. "Through investment and collaboration with investors, we will continue to innovate by using technology to improve F&B business performance and become a trusted technology partner in this industry," said Daniel.
