Talking with the CS:GO SoloMid Team at the Logitech Indonesia Office

"The main reason we are here at this gaming house is to practice and spend a lot of time learning the game."

Team SoloMid or what fans know as TSM was originally founded as a League of Legends team, until they started looking at Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in January 2015. And in a short period of time, TSM slowly gained victories, including in the CS Game Show. :GO League Season 2 to PGL CS:GO Championship Series: Season 1.

As one of the sponsors of Team SoloMid, Logitech invited a number of media and hosted a live chat with the two main TSM players, namely Kory 'Semphis' Friesen and Pujan 'FNS' Mehta, where we discussed many things. Please take a look:

What do you think about Logitech's sponsorship program?

Kory: So far the sponsorship program from Logitech is very meaningful. They provided everything we needed, for example like this office and house; Logitech treated us very well, prepared gaming gear, as well as providing us with suggestions and feedback.

How did you start your career as a pro gamer CS:GO? Any other games played before?

Praise: I studied CS:GO because previously also played CS 1.6. When Global Offensive becomes available, everyone, including team members immediately switch to game the new. At that time I was already playing competitively, and soon we were invited to participate in ESEA. And that motivates me to continue studying Global Offensive.

Have I played before? game other? No really, only Counter-Strike 1.6 competitively.

Kory: I started with Counter-Strike 1.6, and when CS:GO was announced, version 1.6 was already starting to lose players. There are few choices: between moving to Global Offensive or quitting. I enjoy other titles like Dota, and for now I also play Overwatch. All game it's definitely entertaining, that's why I love the game multiplayer.

The Logitech Indonesia office meeting room became a place to talk with TSM.

How do you feel after joining one of the best CS:GO teams in the world and having the opportunity to compete in international tournaments?

Praise: Of course I feel happy. I've played for other teams before, but TSM is a prestigious eSports organization. You don't want to let them down, so there's bound to be pressure. I feel this is the highest level.

Kory: I used to represent Cloud 9 which is like a little brother of TSM, and now I am in a similar situation, also with the same sponsor. I'm happy to be back in the organization eSports big. They provided everything we needed, so I didn't have to think much about other things.

Before joining SoloMid, you represented a different team. How do you adapt to other personnel during training and tournaments?

Praise: Of course adaptation takes time. Previously I played at CLG (Counter Logic Gaming), and I had different playing colleagues and long flying hours formed chemistry. At TSM, I've never played with Semphis and the other members. So obviously it was very difficult to synergize at first; but the more often they compete together, the more cohesiveness is formed.

Kory: For me the hardest aspect is, when you join a new group when you've already played with old friends, it's basically rebuilding from scratch. Our performance was very poor for the first few months, then we were confronted by formation changes. But recently we started crawling up and proving ourselves because we thought we had to show that the team deserved sponsorship. And now more fans are supporting us.

Kory said, "Don't expect two hours a day to be enough for a major tournament."

How much time do you spend practicing in a week?

Praise: The main reason we can be in gaming houses This is for practicing and spending a lot of time learning the game. In the days of CS 1.6 and the birth of CS:GO, there wasn't much competition, but now there are many rival teams and tournaments. Many of these teams are ahead of us, so we need to focus at least between eight and ten hours a day to catch them - from that aspect. skill, cooperation until chemistry.

Kory: I think training time really depends on the player, but 99 percent gamer professionals will definitely practice as often as possible, at least eight hours a day. Don't expect to play two hours a day enough to face a tournament major. I think the more hard work, the better the results.

TSM couldn't even believe they had managed to gather fans from Indonesia.

Is there a special message for other CS:GO fans or gamers, especially in Indonesia?

Praise: I can't even believe people in Indonesia are watching us play, so it feels really great. I believe more if you like Fnatic or another top team. However we really appreciate it. Many people commented negatively, but not a few gave positive comments, expressing confidence and support, even though we lost. So, thank you very much.

Kory: I thought I played CS 1.6 with an Asian team [while Googling] at WCG, but I forgot because it's been a long time. I thank everyone who supports Team Solo Mid, we really appreciate it.

And TSM also thanks the media partners for interview this. This talk is the first interview since I joined Team SoloMid.
