Change Business Model, Porter Plans Expansion to Five Indonesian Cities Until 2018

Has established partnerships with restaurants, caterers, supermarkets and e-commerce

After a year of existence, Porter claims that the business he is running is right and in line with expectations. This logistics service that targets the B2B has undergone a change in its business model and has increased the choice of target merchants. They have until now been able to survive the fierce competition in the logistics sector on-demand. To expand regional reach, Porter will expand to five major cities in Indonesia until 2018.

Having previously presented food and beverage delivery services Street vendor and has been selected as one of the food delivery services in the Smart City activity #KAKI5jakartacampaign, now Porter is transforming into an integrated logistics service.

Porter Co-Founder Richard Cahyanto told DailySocial:

"Following the success we had from Porter Kakilima, we decided to scalable our business and pivot to become a service provider hyperlocal logistics. Serving not only in the city of Jakarta."

According to Richard, the targeted customers are no longer just restaurants or places to eat, but also other verticals such as catering, supermarkets and e-commerce services. Until now Porter still continues to increase the number of merchants to become partners. This is what makes Porter survive the brunt of the service on-demand Go-Jek and Grab which is getting rampant.

"For merchant most of them come from individuals or businesses that usually require delivery services for their products but do not have an integrated system. With Porter we can also help offer the O2O model," said Richard.

Currently, Porter has established partnerships with several e-commerce services in Indonesia, utilizing integrated logistics services that most e-commerce players have. Of course, with a variety of choices, namely, hyperlocalLogistics up to model dropship.

"After running the new business model and [understanding] our target market, we are now confident enough to run our business for the future," concluded Richard.
