Bukalapak Announces Rachmat Kaimuddin as New CEO to Replace Achmad Zaky

Bukalapak today (09/12) announced a change in the composition of the C-Level, effective January 6, 2020. Later the CEO position will be replaced by Rachmat Kaimuddin, while Achmad Zaky will act as Advisor (and Co-Founder).

Also informed, Zaky immediately inaugurated the "Achmad Zaky Foundation" and focused on becoming a startup mentor in Indonesia. The foundation will focus on science and education, entrepreneurship, impact investing, and research.

Fajrin Rasyid remains as President (and Co-Founder) of Bukalapak. Likewise with Nugroho Herucahyono as CTO (and Co-Founder), Willix Halim as COO, Teddy Oetomo as CSO, and Natalia Firmasyah as CFO.

Bagus Hirmawan, who has only joined since July 2019, also remains as Chief of Talent.

"We started Bukalapak with a personal passion to create a positive impact for MSMEs. I am proud that within 10 years, Bukalapak is known on the world map as E-commerce leading Indonesia. Now, we invite Rachmat to join Bukalapak because his leadership can lead Bukalapak to a greater level. I believe Rachmat is the right person, part of the right team, in the right position, and came at the right time," said Zaky.

Rachmat previously served as Director of Finance and Planning at Bank Bukopin. He started his career as a Senior Associate at the Boston Consulting Group. He has also served as Managing Director of PT Cardig Air Services, Chief Financial Officer of PT Bosowa Corporindo, Managing Director of PT Semen Bosowa Maros, VP of Baring Private Equity Asia, and Principal of Quvat.

The focus of the new leadership in the future is to navigate the company in the long term. Under the new leadership, the company will focus on issues related to talent, capital, and financial management, as well as strengthen Bukalapak's role in supporting Indonesian SMEs.
