Snapcart Cashback Giver App Officially Launched

Has received an initial funding injection from Ardent Capital, trying to help Indonesians to save money

Rising trend E-commerce in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, has given rise to various options for obtaining services cashback online in this region. Now there is one more new startup that wants to take advantage of this opportunity named Snapcart. This local app basically helps their users to get cashback from shopping activities carried out daily offline just by taking a photo of the shopping receipt.

Snapcart was founded in Jakarta by Reynazran Royono (Rey) who is now the CEO of Snapcart. Prior to founding Snapcart, Rey had spent his career at Procter & Gamble (P&G), Boston Consulting Group, and most recently as CEO of Commerce.

Through this experience, Rey realized that it was harder to find ways to save money on purchases offline in-store compared to online purchases. This is what inspired him to establish Snapcart and help Indonesians save money.

Snapcart itself is a mobile application that allows shoppers to get cashback from the user's shopping receipt photo and also possible brand can interact more deeply with consumers through activities in applications such as surveys for example. On the brand side, they will also get insight more in-depth later because Snapcart utilizes technology big data analytics in the data collection process.

Snapcart is now available for Android devices and can be downloaded at Google Play.

Rey says, "Snapcart does fetch data, [...] but at the same time our service creates engagement  antara brand and consumers Directly [by leveraging technology big data analytics]."

Snapcart itself has collaborated with various brands in Indonesia such as Nestle and L'Oreal. In addition, Snapcart has also secured seed funding from Ardent Capital in an undisclosed amount.

Through the information we received, Ardent Capital CEO Adrian Vanzyl said, "Snapcart is the most promising Big Data business in Southeast Asia that we have seen so far. [...] For the brand it can present the data they dream of, which never had a practical way to actually collect it, so the business benefits both parties. Consumers win [earn cashback], brand win [gain consumer behavior insight]."

Snapcart has rolled out in the form of private beta since June 2015 and seems to have received quite a positive response from the public by occupying the Top 20 list in the Shopping category on Google Play. To be able to get cashback, the user must reach the minimum amount value of IDR 52.500, before the money is deposited into the user's bank account directly.
