OpenProcurement Expand Business Travel Ticket Booking Service

Bukalapak collaborates with local travel agent company Golden Nusa to provide this service on its platform

BukaPengadaan, one of Bukalapak's business units for the B2B segment, announced a collaboration with Golden Nusa to procure business travel ticket booking services. The addition of this feature is expected to strengthen the position of BukaProcurement as a one stop solution e-procurement platform.

This collaboration will provide convenience for corporate customers as well as government agencies in procuring official travel, such as booking airline tickets, trains, and hotels. Thus, the procurement of official travel becomes easier, transparent, and efficient.

Head of Operation & Marketing Analytics BukaPengadaan Andry Jachja said, “BukaPengadaan always strives to continue to innovate and collaborate with technology-based parties, this time with Golden Nusa. Through this collaboration, we want to support the government's efforts in the process of Indonesia's economic recovery, especially in budget savings in procuring official travel tickets [..]," he said in an official statement, Thursday (17/6).

Head of Business Development Golden Nusa Travel Services Christian Simamora added, "We are proud to be part of the collaboration with BukaPengadaan by providing online experiences to private corporations and government agencies in the procurement of official travel.

Previously, Tiket had penetrated the travel ticket procurement segment for the corporate market in early 2019 and Bhinneka who hooked Counter for entertainment ticket sales, theme park, and MICE.

Since its release in 2016, BukaProcurement has been integrated with marketplace Bukalapak that connects this service with 6,5 million sellers who offer hundreds of millions of products.

In joint interview DailySocial in the past year, BukaPengadaan has embraced more than 1500 users, about 80% are companies and the rest are SMEs and government agencies. In 2019, BukaPengadaan recorded that there were 500 buyers, 5 thousand purchase orders with an average value per transaction of Rp. 150 million.

The products provided by BukaProcurement are not only retail and raw materials, they also touch virtual products that are managed using one pintu platform.

This is also one of the value propositions that the company wants to provide. This is because its competitors, such as Tokopedia or Shopee, have so far not shown a desire to enter this market share.

Based on a research report from EigenRe, the projected market size of B2B Commerce will reach $21,3 billion in 2023. Players are also quite optimistic, that Covid-19 will generate a rebound for the business, resulting in bigger transactions than before.
