BTPN Syariah Performs API Integration with Merchandise for Laku Pandai Application

Be part of a synergy with portfolio startups; BTPN Syariah Ventura invests in pre-series B Dagangan funding

BTPN Syariah (BTPS) announced the latest version of the Warung Right application which has been integrated via API with Trade. This latest feature allows agents (Pact Partners) to shop for household goods/food items at wholesale prices, either for personal needs or for resale.

“With this Right Partner, our efficiency is increasing. Para community officer We focus more on customer acquisition because some of the tasks are carried out by the Right Partner,” said Bank BTPN Syariah President Director Hadi Wibowo in Jakarta, Wednesday (27/7).

Not only the grocery shopping feature, this application also provides additional payment alternatives by paylater for customers who have been approved with a loan limit from BTPS. This option complements pre-existing payments, namely COD and account debit when buying basic necessities.

Form synergy with portfolio startups

The development of the Warung Right application to the latest version is a form of realization of the investment that BTPN Syariah Ventura gave to Dagangan some time ago in Pre-Series B . round. In addition to API integration and paylater, the partnership between the two companies is also carried out to provide access to financing for Trading partners and to expand market access.

Hadi said that actually, the trial of the Warung Right application had begun at the end of 2020 with various versions. The team slowly evaluates the input received in the field and adjusts it to the needs of the agents. The digital approach faced by BTPS for mothers in second and third tier cities is indeed more challenging, some are ready but some are not.

"It is precisely with the shift in the shopping patterns of mothers [to digital platforms] that we expect, so that the burden" community officer can be diverted for more customer acquisition. Because until now we are still netting new customers.”

BTPS will increase the number of Warung Right users after the inauguration of this latest version. BTPS targets to have an additional 25 thousand Partners Right in the second quarter of 2022.

Regarding investment in the next startup, Hadi said that he would make at least one investment every year. Currently there are several startups that are being tested with the BTPS business. Once proven to work, the new investment is disbursed.

“Because we have to look at the startup business proven in the field, do not let us just invest. This is what makes BTPN Syariah Ventura different from most VCs,” added Finance Director Fachmy Ahmad.

The Right Stall Innovation

In the course of digital innovation at BTPS, Mitra Right uses two applications, namely the BTPN Syariah Agent and Warung Right. Both have different functions. The first application is devoted to performing banking facilities, such as cash withdrawals, mutation checks, transfers, and so on. Meanwhile, the new Warung Right provides a PPOB bill payment feature.

The next development, it was decided to take Warung Right seriously in order to accommodate the various needs of partners, ranging from banking transactions, PPOB (BPJS billing, PLN, telephone, credit), credit applications to the latest feature of shopping for groceries. In terms of UI/UX, it is designed to be as friendly as possible for mothers who are Laku Pandai agents at BTPS.

Users simply select the items in the application, then order, and payment can be made by debiting the Right Syariah Savings account or when the goods are received. Ordered goods will be delivered directly to the partner's place.

One of the Right Partners, Widya, from Cileungsi said the application developed by BTPS gave him many conveniences. He is used to doing various transactions to meet the needs of his shop. "The application is very easy to use, there are many benefits," he said while demonstrating the Warung Right application.

For the record, Mitra Right is a classification given by BTPS to financing customers who have succeeded in developing a larger business. Mitra Right is a housewife who owns a business and is an extension of the bank in serving customers.

Of the approximately 4 million BTPS financing customers, around 20% of them have "upgraded" to Mitra Right and are more technologically literate. Usually, once in two weeks, there is a bank officer or so-called community officer who come to customers for banking activities. However, if prior to the visit and non-Pasir Partners need funds or want to save or other transactions, they can contact the nearest Right Partner.
