Bank Amar's Fintech Platform "Tunaiku" is Now Integrated with the Dukcapil System, Simplifying Customer Verification

Join 973 other financial institutions in Indonesia that are already doing the same

Bank Amar has now joined a company that has received permission from the Director General of Civil Registration (Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration) to access population data and can be used for business purposes. Through this opportunity, Bank Amar will take advantage of access to speed up the customer data validation mechanism which has been done manually so far.

"With this Dukcapil, the validation mechanism will be more accurate in terms of speed and accuracy. We can also mitigate risk by calculating the possibility of default," said Tuk Yulianto, President Director of Bank Amar Indonesia, last week (23/3).

He continued, another impact for banks is that the credit distribution process and operations will be better mitigated. Likewise, regarding the potential for banking crimes or fraud using fake ID cards.

One of Bank Amar's flagship fintech products, Tunaiku, will be the most appropriate ammunition for the implementation of data integration into Dukcapil. According to him, the decision-making process will be three times faster than before.

"At least in the identity matching phase this will be very helpful. When it's not clear, it can be directly drop. Our time will be 50% more efficient."

He gave an example for the credit application process at Tunaiku, previously it could take up to 24 hours for the funds to be disbursed. However, with data integration the process will be reduced to around six hours.

It is claimed that based on performance until February 2018, both conventional and digital businesses have disbursed loans of around Rp500 billion.

Besides Bank Amar, on the same occasion Dukcapil also signed cooperation with eight other financial institutions, namely BRI Agro, Central Santosa Finance, MNC Bank, BNI Syariah, Mitra Dana Top Finance, Shakti Top Finance, Mega Auto Finance, and Mega Central Finance. .

Reduce non-performing loans

BNI Syariah President Director Abdullah Firman Wibowo added that the impact of data integration with Dukcapil, banks can gain efficiency from three aspects, namely time, cost, and process. According to him, the bank used to take a long time to find and collect data on prospective customers such as addresses and assets.

Through this integrated data, these things can be trimmed and banks can get new business opportunities. Indirectly, data integration will reduce the potential for non-performing loans.

Firman said, credit quality depends on the analysis. Well, the quality of the analysis is determined by the quality of the credit. "So the complementarity between the quality of human resources and technology," he explained.

The Director General of Dukcapil at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, said that the collaboration with the 9 financial institutions was a follow-up to a memorandum of understanding between the Minister of Home Affairs and OJK in 2014 for cooperation in the use of population identification numbers (NIK), population data, and electronic ID cards.

Zudan said this collaboration would also have a positive impact on the Ministry of Home Affairs in completing the population database on financial transactions. Technically, the administrator appointed by the cooperating institution will receive a password to access population data. Personal data, should not be disseminated and can only be used for the interests concerned.

"We have collaborated with 973 financial service institutions, which are expected to help reduce the chance of making fake ID cards. By using an information data system that has guaranteed accuracy, the gap for financial crimes with fake ID cards can be avoided," concluded Zudan.

From Dukcapil data, as many as 97,4% of Indonesia's population has recorded electronic ID cards from a total of 262 million residents. Zudan also asked financial institutions to help with socialization and required customers to use electronic ID cards.
