Bandung Startup Promotes Community Concept to Develop Together

Startup Bandung has just been initiated. As a forum for digital startup actors in Bandung to be able to share in the community with the community concept. This community is expected to be a means of maturation for startups, because it carries the concept of learning from experienced startup actors. This means that this community emphasizes teaching between startups, startup actors who are already considered seniors will become mentors to share and provide ideas in dealing with problems faced by new startups.

Tinker Games co-founder Muhammad Ajie Santika as one of the initiators of the establishment of this community in his presentation conveyed his hope that the development of startups in Bandung from an economic perspective should be able to rotate well in their own city, which can also enlarge foot startups in Bandung. In addition, this community is expected to be able to communicate various things, including matters such as funding, incubation opportunities and other startup needs.

This Bandung startup was founded on an "anxiety". When the startup industry is so developed in the country, unfortunately there is almost no community that specifically focuses on developing startups. Previously, there were many IT communities, but they had not led to the goal of developing startups in them, from startups to startups, most of them were still related to communities related to certain platforms and products.

Not only does it stop being a gathering place for startups in Bandung, Startup Bandung is also committed to establishing many relationships with components that can support the acceleration of startup growth, such as venture capital, co-working space, government, other communities, media, and other senior companies/startups. Not only closing themselves in Bandung, this community will also be affiliated with various communities in other cities.

In the beginning, this startup association has managed to gather at least 50 startups from various segments in Indonesia from online marketplaces, games, animation, design, media, Internet of Things and so on, starting from those that have not been established for a year, 3 years running, to those that are more than 5 years old. In its launch on July 3, 2015 which was accompanied by an iftar event, startup retainers from Agate, Jotterpro, Garuda Games, Uber Bandung, and Kite Mobile were also present.

Startup Bandung believes that communication and collaboration are the keys to the growth rate of startups in Bandung. For this reason, the association has also prepared programs that will be executed regularly, namely monthly Startup Talks, Founder Sharing held every quarter, Office Visits every half year, and Startup Camp once a year. Programs such as Lailatul Coding, Geek Fest, Startup Weekend, and Lean Startup Machine are also ready to be elaborated into the community.
