After success capture the rapid growth in his first year glide in Indonesia, AbraResto continues to implement a reliable strategy, this time through a program called “Carrots” and several local approaches, AbraResto tries to target significant growth which is targeted to be achieved by the end of the year.

On an occasion we met in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Ankur Mehrotra as CEO of AbraResto admitted that entering the Indonesian market for AbraResto was a challenge in itself. In a country known to be very “adoring” social media, he had to rack his brains so that AbraResto could be well received in the Indonesian market, as a result, the points program Carrots and several local approaches he took to smooth AbraResto's business steps in Indonesia.

“We are always looking for what Indonesian users are currently interested in, so we always update our strategy to be able to meet users' needs for culinary recommendations and share them with others. Program Carrots this is one of the programs that we have prepared for this,” said Ankur on the sidelines of the press conference (8/10).

Program Carrots itself is a point system program that accumulates from the activities a user does when he is registered as an AbraResto user. Points Carrots this can be collected by interacting and exploring within the AbraResto platform, a collection of Carrots owned can later be exchanged as rewards in various forms.

“This Carrots program is actually a form of our appreciation to Indonesian users. The points that have been collected can be exchanged for various interesting things, ranging from restaurant vouchers, gift cards, to return flight tickets to Singapore and Thailand. In fact, we also offer a special grand prize that can be obtained, namely the Yacht Party package on Pulau Seribu,” added Ankur.

Again, he did not deny that he relied on the Carrots program in the hope of boosting traffic which is currently on the rise. The growth of new users itself is now claimed to grow by an average of 180% per month with the number of new registered users reaching more than 150.000. In addition to increasing this traction, by initiative, Ankur and his team will also continue to increase the number of partnerships with many culinary business entities which he admits is one way for AbraResto to monetize its business. So far, AbraResto has more than 40.000 restaurant databases in Jakarta and Bandung.

To gain wider traction, Ankur said, AbraResto does not only embrace top restaurants or cafes, according to him, street food and “tent” food stalls deserve to be included in the list of services, with the aim that AbraResto can be closer to users from various circles. and the hope of increasing traffic can be achieved. This kind of local approach is clearly needed for foreign startups like AbraResto to be successful in Indonesia. In addition to this approach, content localization is also important so that it can reach the Indonesian market to the fullest.
